My family were guests of the Gros Ventre River Ranch in July, 2008. What a wonderful week! Everything about it is first class.

First of all, the accommodations were perfect. We stayed in a cabin with one queen bed and a nice private bath. Housekeeping cleaned the room every morning, and then turned it down at night. The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. The housekeeping staff turned on the bed heater every night and it felt great. Our 2 children stayed in the cabin adjacent to us and that worked out great. We each had our own space but they were close enough that we could keep a close eye on them.

Meals were served in the lodge and they were fantastic. The chef did a great job and the wait staff were very attentive, taking care of anything we wanted. It was so nice not to have to cook for the entire week-and have wonderful, gourmet meals served by a friendly staff. There was a BBQ on the lawn 2 nights, and those were delicious. They had wine available for the adults before dinner each night. We enjoyed dining with the different guests and never had a bad meal. They always had kid-friendly choices available, too-so everyone was happy.

We rode horses every morning and were delighted with beautiful views each and every time. The wranglers took different groups, based on their riding ability. They were friendly and did a great job of making sure everyone enjoyed their ride. One day everyone met at a designated place on the mountain for a lunch cookout of hamburgers and hot dogs. Once again, everything was first class and the food was delicious.

If you are looking for a memorable family vacation, you will not be disappointed at Gros Ventre River Ranch. We rode with our children every day and they throughly enjoyed it. I wanted a place where I was able to spend quality time with them-not with them in a separate children's program. They also had a game room where the kids could get away for awhile and play pool, ping-pong, or watch a movie. There was plenty to do everyday-or you could choose to do nothing and relax. It was a perfect week and I hope to go back there again very soon!

The owners, managers and office staff did everything they could to make our stay wonderful. Everyone that worked there was friendly and truly seemed to enjoy being there. Who wouldn't?? The weather was awesome, the views breathtaking, the atmosphere relaxed-what more could you want? There are many guest ranches in the Jackson Hole area, but you won't be disappointed here!

I was a little hesitant about this place because where they don’t take credit cards you need to send them a pretty large some of money and hope things work out. Well they did better than any of us (family of 4, my wife and kids 9&12) could have believed. The cabins were great, very nice and very clean, much bigger than it appears on there web site. The grounds were beautiful and the food was outstanding. Almost all the staff seemed like recent college grads that were really helpful and friendly. The riding was amazing, it felt like we put in 40 hours over the week on the trails and every minute was incredible. The area is too beautiful to believe, the mountains, the flowers (I am not a guy who notices flowers but the ones there are amazing) and the River are all awe inspiring. The folks that run the ranch know what level of comfort and service people expect for a premium price and they deliver.

If you want to see wildlife this is also the place it was very common to see buffalo, deer, moose and elk on the rides or running around the ranch.

The chef was new to the ranch but not new in the kitchen, he could cook gourmet food and it was clear no expense was spared from halibut fresh flown in from Alaska, to one night Sushi with the best Blue fin I have ever tried to perfect steaks and great deserts.

My family and I have traveled extensively and this is by far one of the best places we have ever gone. It has everything you need for a great vacation and will be happy to speak to anyone who has a question about it.

We just returned from our second visit to the GVRR and had another great experience. Tori and Sean do an excellent job of making guests feel comfortable and the attention to detail is evident. Dana's cooking remains top notch! It was nice to see so many familiar faces in the staff. Our daughter had a wonderful time, as well. The ranch does a great job of balancing family friendly and creature comforts. The number of return guests is a strong testimony to this wonderful place run by exceptional people.

My husband and I went to Gros Ventre for our 20th anniversary. It was a wonderful vacation. So relaxing. Every day we would wake up and walk out on to our porch and look at the Grand Teton and just couldn't believe it was real. We loved it so much we are taking our children back this summer.
