“Huge Portions of Very Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

Our party had the pastrami sandwich, the BLT, a burger and a salad. Everyone was very pleased and we took home leftovers. I liked the rosemary popcorn as an alternative to chips or fries with the sandwiches. We got there about 20 minutes to noon and this small restaurant quickly filled up behind us on a Friday afternoon and there were people waiting for a table when we left. Get there early to ensure you get a table!

“Memorable creative food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Love love this place ! We have eaten at top resturaunts around the world and the crooked spoon rates up there. We had lamb shank with roasted potatoes and acorn squash - rich, balanced and savory - diver sea scallops with blue crab anad sweet pea risotto - crispy char and cooked to perfection. The crab cake appetizer was wonderful with the spicy jicama slaw. Capped off the meal with a piece of carrot cake. We did have to wait for 45 minutes but sat at the bar and had an appetizer. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner and a celebration feast after being out on the boundary waters for 4 days. We headed back the next day for lunch which was tasty. Enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich and pork tenderloin. Tried the chicken white bean chilli for an appetizer and again had to end the meal with carrot cake before our drive home to Chicago. What a delightful spot for fresh creative food. The service is friendly and a bit slow but what rush are you really in while on vacation. Met some folks on the street and recommended they go for lunch. We ran into them at lunch and they raved about the crime brûlée and crab cake. Please go you will not be disappointed.

“GREAT BURGER!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

My husband and I stopped by the Crooked Spoon Cafe for lunch while visiting Grand Marais. We had an absolutely wonderful burger there. The place was packed when we got there at 2:30. I can understand why. Good food and excellent service.

“Great food for our backwoods drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

We were looking for something to take with us on our backwoods drive for lunch and enjoyed this choice very much. At first we were not sure they did take out but the waitress didn't bat a eye even when we wanted to take the cheese fondue as take out. Nice quite setting as we waited for our food but very busy. The fondue was excellent and we had the fresh fish sandwich also with dill chips. Enjoyed all of it and we were rewarded for our driving by coming upon a moose!
