“So-so, and not-so-friendly staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This was my second stay at this particular hotel. I thought I just had a cranky desk clerk the first time; but I was less than impressed the second time around, too. The answer to a question I had at check-in was met with "because that's just the way it is." I expected more of an explanation. The view is nice. The pool and breakfast are decent. I don't particularly like the fake hardwood floors in the rooms. I prefer carpet. WiFi did not work great, and I had very poor cell reception in my room. I stayed 3 nights last week. The first night (a Tuesday) was $260; and the other 2 were $116. I think $260 for a Best Western is outrageous.

Ok you could see the lake but don't know if the water level was low or something but you can really see very little of it. The hotel is nice, the pool is also ok, nothing too fancy. The reception is good, friendly and helpful staff. The only thing that bothered me was that once we got our room in the first hour they knocked 3 times and came in for doing our room?? The hotel was a bit overpriced maybe the season but was ok. Overall not a bad experience I like those best westerns, but couldn't give them more than average...

Dear Chris_Globe_Trottel: Thank you for sharing your experience. I gather from your comments that you did not go to the Visitor Center at Glen Canyon Dam. It is located 5 minutes from the hotel. The excellent tour addresses how Lake Powell is a man-made reservoir, and how the current drought impacts the desert and the wild-life down stream, etc. Please do read up on the subject as it will provide you with alternate environmental perspective when you view the desert lake landscape from the hotel and associate with the grand desert vista that surrounds it. It will help you understand and compare how Lake Powell, a desert reservoir, to glacier formed lakes you are familiar with in the Swiss Alps. Please do take time to study on the subject. It's all very fascinating.
Please contact Glen Canyon Recreation Area or Glen Canyon Dam to learn more on the topic. I know you will enjoy it. Thank you.

Very nice hotel with a nice deck for relaxing & see the view of Lake Powell. Be aware this hotel is a stickler for the 3:00 p.m. check in time & do not try to check in early. We arrived before noon on a motorcycle. They did keep our luggage for us while we did some sightseeing. We then camped out in the lobby until they finally had a room for us at 2:00 p.m. because they felt sorry for us.

Dear Mel B: Thank you for your recent stay with us. Our entire staff is very happy to learn you enjoyed your stay with us. However, we do apologize that we were not able to get you into your room earlier than 2pm. Our housekeeping team tries to clean guest rooms well, and it is hard to do it any faster without doing a good job especially during the peak tourist season.
We are appreciative of your understanding and happy that you enjoyed the beautiful view from the hotel while you were waiting. Please do come back and stay with us again. We value your stay. Thank you.

Really exceptional refurbishment. Everything new. The WI-FI doesn't work well and when I questioned the help, I was told that the remote location of the property was the reason. It kept dropping my work. Seriously needs help.

The bed was good and the room was clean. We were in a 3rd floor room with a wonderful view of Lake Powell.and loved it. There is a swimming pool on the second floor level, giving participants an extra treat. Our only meal there was an excellent buffet breakfast, included in the price of the room. The interior decoration of the hotel is beautiful in purple, orange and lime.

My only negative comment is that the staff at the check-in/check-out counter didn't smile...a necessary thing in that business Nevertheless, our stay was extraordinarily wonderful.

The interior decorating of the hotel is unique, colorful and fun! Especially the hall carpeting, in orange, purple and lime green

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the back of the building, giving you the wonderful view we had. Every floor w...

I had originally planned to stay here 3 nights. After one, I moved to the other Best Western across the street. This place always has something wrong with it . Last summer, the pool was closed. (the pool should have been done off season) This year, they remodeled the whole place. But, you might never know it cause the whole place, except for the lobby and breakfast area, were dirty and grimy. The new fake wood floors in the rooms are not clean and lots of glue still remains on the surface. Beds were old old and just re-used for this remodel. My queen bed was really a double. And what's going on with that stupid window in the bathroom overlooking the bed? Otherwise, has a great view of the dam and bridge and the breakfast was good. Lots of people on "tours" stay here.
I will most likely stay here again cause it overlooks the lake and is very close to the boat launch ramps. But @ more than 135/night in many cases (often well over 200/night), overpriced. Seems to me about 80/night is about right. 125/night if it was clean.

Room Tip: ear plugs ...and bring a mop to clean the floors and bathroom. AND, bring clean towels !! From what...

Dear Mark L: Thank you for your comments regarding your stay at our hotel. Our record shows you stayed with us shortly after our hotel reopened from our renovation. We apologize that there was still construction cleaning that was missed in the room you stayed in. Much of the cleaning has now been completed by hotel housekeeping, we apologize for your inconvenience.
The hotel's renovation included many environment friendly green elements. The window in the bathroom was designed to allow natural light into the bathroom during daytime to conserve energy. Our Amptico wood flooring was designed to reduce allergen and to reduce electric and chemical use that carpet would require on a regular basis. Many of our other customers recognize the design advantages, so we hope you will on your next stay with us.
We appreciate you as a returning customer. It appears you must enjoy your stay with us and recognize our rates are priced competitively with other hotels of similar quality and location in Page as you are a repeat customer to our facilities. We hope on your next stay with us we will be able to recognize our continued improvements and to enjoy and recognize our many other hotel amenities. Please contact Kris, our hotel office manager, at 928.645.8868 if you have more questions about your stay with us. We value your comments and business.

Have stayed in many hotels during my lifetime, but have never "encountered" the bedroom setup like this. The bathroom has a window that faces the bedroom, so when one gets up to use the toilet in the middle of the night and turns the light on, it lights up the whole bedroom. Also not very often you enter a room that doesn't have carpeting in it---had laminate flooring.
