Owner description: Colorado River Discovery offers the most fantastic one day rafting trips anywhere on the mighty Colorado River. We provide half-day and full day tours that are perfect for the entire family (kids aged 4 and up). Departing from the scenic town of Page, Arizona, your trip will begin with an exciting and exclusive ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. At river level, with the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a comfortable pontoon raft for your journey downstream. While on the River, you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river in the western United States. Your experienced guide will tell the story of the area’s soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell and others, and the river's modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.A stop to view an impressive set of ancient petroglyphs will offer a you chance to stretch your legs and enjoy your lunch while bearing witness to the area’s former inhabitance by ancient native cultures. If you choose, you may also refresh yourself by wading in the cold, clear river. Come and visit the river that we love... You'll be inspired!

We enjoyed a very nice trip. It cost some money, but it was all worth it.

“A fantastic half day calm water rafting trip on the Colorado River”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2010

The half day rafting trip on the Colorado river out of Page is a great time and well worth it. The scenery is awesome and our guide was great. It was a highlight of our Arizona trip, which included Sedona and the Grand Canyon.

“Perfect way to spend half a day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2010

My family took the morning raft trip out of Page, AZ on our visit to the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion in August. It was one of the top two things we did on our trip! The experience of drifting down the river with the mountains soaring high above you on each side was incredible. The rafts were comfortable, the guide wonderful and we would highly recommend the trip. We bought the box lunches at the store on the premises and saved them to eat on the bus ride back which was perfect. Our guide was Kyle and he added the right amount of information about the river, personal stories, quiet time to reflect and even a guitar serenade! Don't miss this chance of a lifetime.

“Excellent afternoon of gentle rafting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2010

This is an excellent way to spend an afternoon. Suitable for all ages and those not quite adventurous enough to try white water. We went on a very hot day in August with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees F but the guides took great care tyo ensure that we were well hydrated with plenty of water and lemonade to drink provided free of charge.. There is no shade on the raft so please take layers to cover up and a hat or you will burn! Our guide was very personable and told us lots of stories to do with him and the river.Visit to the pertoglyphs half way down allowed a toilet visit and a cooling paddle in ice cold water. Be advised that there is a long black tunnel to be negotiated in the coach before you get on the float which may not be too good for anyone with claustrophobia. All in all a very good day
