Owner description: Colorado River Discovery offers the most fantastic one day rafting trips anywhere on the mighty Colorado River. We provide half-day and full day tours that are perfect for the entire family (kids aged 4 and up). Departing from the scenic town of Page, Arizona, your trip will begin with an exciting and exclusive ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. At river level, with the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a comfortable pontoon raft for your journey downstream. While on the River, you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river in the western United States. Your experienced guide will tell the story of the area’s soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell and others, and the river's modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.A stop to view an impressive set of ancient petroglyphs will offer a you chance to stretch your legs and enjoy your lunch while bearing witness to the area’s former inhabitance by ancient native cultures. If you choose, you may also refresh yourself by wading in the cold, clear river. Come and visit the river that we love... You'll be inspired!

“A first class operation and what a great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

I picked Colorado Discovery in Page by default as it was the only place doing rafting trips in the canyon in early November and while it was a bit chilly i think we just picked it right. Having seen other photos on the web i realised that although it is not so warm the later in the year the trips become a bit more personal as we had a very small party and were the only craft that cruised down the Glen Canyon that day dwarfed by the majestic walls on either side.
The ride is 'smooth' as advertised on pontooned boats. Our guide was a local young man named James who obviously loves his job, is knowledgable, pleasant and a pleasure to be with.
The whole operation and experience was terrific including the 2 mile drive in the canyon walls to the start of the ride at the foot of the dam.

What a great experience! Seeing the natural beauty of the Glen Canyon was only topped by the siting of Condors! Thank you!

“Fabulous day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

We had a lovely day on the river with our guide, Martyn. He was funny, friendly and very knowledgable. It was lovely to be in the canyon after looking down from the top many times. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone.

“James/Visual Overload”

Wow! There are both man made and natural wonders on this river.Of course, on excursions like this, your guide can make all the difference. Our guide was Brent Nageli. Get him if you can. He made the voyage friendly, informative, entertaining, exciting, and had great stories. But most of all he was genuine and his love for those canyon walls and the people who lived there for 1000's of years is what sinks in. I mean, this isn't Disneyland. When Brent plays an ancient melody on his Navajo flute, it reminds you this is a sacred place and it puts you in a reverent mood. It was all totally enjoyable, Brent just helped to get our priorities straight, which helped make it meaningful as well as memorable......

Recently I enjoyed a fabulous guided tour down the Colorado River with Brent Nageli, our guide. Not only was he very knowledgeable, he was personable and entertaining. Mr. Nageli was quite a personality and is definitely an asset to your company. Thank you Brent for a fabulous and memorable experience!
