I had a photo trip planned which included stops at numerous sites in and around Page, Arizona. I found the Red Rock on TripAdvisor and based on past reviews and price, I decided it to give it a shot. I was not disappointed. The motel is a 50s-style motel if you remember them; probably actually built in the late 50s for the construction workers who built the dam. It's located along a block in Page known as the Street Of Little Motels, only two short blocks from the main drag, Lake Powell Blvd. The motel was quaint and nostalgic. We got a small suite with 2 rooms and a pot for making fresh coffee in the morning. The owner was friendly and helpful. They don't have ice but she went into her personal refrigerator to get some for me. A big thumbs up for the Red Rock Motel.

I have stayed in Page several times and the choice of accommodation is a little underwhelming. Even the higher rated hotels are, at most, average and usually quite expensive. Therefore this time we though we would try the budget end of the scale. We stayed two nights in a 3 bed suite. This included 3 queen beds, two bathrooms and a full size kitchen. Everything was relatively clean but the kitchen was a little run down and rusty in parts. We only used the facilities to make breakfast such as bagels so it was fine but i don't think i would have liked to try and cook a full meal as the cooker was very old. The decor was old fashioned but it was ok. We were able to get the free wifi but only in some parts of the accommodation. I think if we were further away from the office we would not have been able to connect. The location is convenient and you can walk to a number of restaurants and to safeway/shopping centre if you needed to. Other reviewers have said they were unsure about the neighbourhood but Page is pretty a pretty quite town and I felt perfectly safe at all times. Parking was no problem and we were able to park directly outside the room. The rate was excellent and was the main reason that we stayed here. Having said that, I didn't really relish spending time at the accommodation so next time I think I would bite the bullet and stay at one of the more expensive hotels in town with a pool etc.

I have just come back from a trip to Glen Canyon NRA and Grand Canyon. I booked this motel, thinking that at least the basic amenities will be available. We wanted a place to stay the night. But the experience was horrible. The toilet bowl overflowed over the bathroom floor. When the owner (Dail) was called, he said the motel was full and he couldnt help us. When we pressed him to help us out, he offered to sanitize the bathroom floor, but said that he cannot help us more since the whole place was booked. he did offer to refund us the room rent and let us find another hotel, but it was late and we decided to stay put. Even then he kept on saying that since we are complaining about the bathroom, we maynot be pleased after the sanitization and we should look for another place. Finally he cleaned up the floor but when we said about the inconvenience caused because of this, he said that he did not put stuff to clog up the toilet bowl(implying that we are responsible) and that he was also harassed because he had to clean up the floor..so there will be no discount!! Further he was extremely rude and threw pennies on our face, saying that here is the money.
Overall, Dail is very rude, extremely unpleasant to talk to and very uncooperative. The next morning we left without using the bathroom, because the toilet bowl overflowed once again.Even if we choose to ignore the fact that the toilet bowl overflow has been a problem long before the room was given to us, the fact that the owner was unapologetic, rude makes the whole experience horrible. I would have at least a decent apology for the horrible time we spent there.
We were a couple and traveling with parents. They were harassed a lot because of the incident. i would have gladly gone to a motel or hotel which was a bit costlier rather than have to deal with such an uncultured man!!!!

If anyone wants to stay, beware...do not stay in Room 108...or be ready to fall in such a position.

I travelled with my husband and 2 sons aged 7 and 3 and we stayed in a 2 room suite.

The main living area was large with one queen bed, a table, chairs, fridge, microwave, TV etc. The bedroom also included another queen bed. The bathroom was large enough, but we did experience a small problem with the toilet.

All the furniture and linens were old, no doubt about it. As were the historic little buildings themselves. But everything was in working order, it was well cleaned and we paid only $66, so that seemed reasonable.

It was in a great location, in the middle of street of other little motels built around the time and for the same reason; and with easy access to the Antelope Slot Canyons (one of our all time holiday favourite sites – do not miss it if you’re in the area), Lake Powell and the dam.

The boys did enjoy playing in the outside dirt “yard” for a while, but mostly we just slept here and continued on with our days touring. And for that purpose it was excellent.

There were eleven of us traveling together focusing on the Grand Canyon North Rim followed by a half day raft trip in Glen canyon so an over night stay in Page made sense, rather than driving home to Sedona/Flagstaff/Greer. I was in charge and my wife wanted to stay someplace more affordable since we only needed a place to sleep for the night. I chose red Rock Motel based on TA reviews and advised all or our travel mates of my selection and gave them another list of places to consider in Page if they wanted to be more upscale. (That's a relative term in Page anyway).
Nine of us chose Red Rock motel and 7 of the 9 were very pleased. The last couple stayed elsewhere because Red Rock was full by the time they called.
Since my wife and I had a guest visiting and traveling with us from FL, I opted for a 2 BR at $66. Our friends all booked 1BR units for $52, but theirs all came with a full kitchen! And one of their units connected to ours so we actually had a 3BR with a kitchen for 5 of us and it worked out great.
The buildings are old, having been constructed as apartment housing for the original dam builders before Page was a real town. But the local ownership and on site management is what makes Red Rock Motel a nice place to be and an excellent value. The convenient location allowed to walk to a wide variety of restaurants and services. We chose Bonkers for dinner and loved it. Ranch House was our selection for a tasty breakfast, also within 2 blocks walking distance.
If you desire a newer traditional roadside motel while staying in Page, there are plenty of options. But for a great value and a funky old time charm, choose Red Rock Motel or one of the other similar options in the same block in this historic section of Page.
