Owner description: Horseshoe Bend is the intimate Grand Canyon experience (although technically located in Glen Canyon.) The trailhead to this 3/4 mile hike is located just outside of Page, Arizona. It overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River, 4 miles south of the Glen Canyon Dam, and 7 miles north of mile zero of the Grand Canyon.

“Worth the hike!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

I thought this was just a lookout off the side of the road. Although there is a bit of a hike the views are spectacular.

“Get there early”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

If you are hoping to get a sunset shot, you should get there at least 30 - 45 minutes before sunset. There will be lots of tripods set up along the ridge so if you are late you may not get a shot of horseshoe bend without other photographers in your picture. It's a bit of a hike up the hill then walking to the ledge from the parking lot. But it is a beautiful once you get to the top of the hill.

Less than a mile walk and you reach a spectacular view of a 270 degree bend in the Colorado river. Gorgeous

“Great to See it Once”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

Great to see it once. Lots of tourist foot traffic throughout the week. Easy to find. Only about 1 mile round trip.

“Incredible, but difficult to photograph completely in winter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

The view up around the bend is incredible, but the angle of the sun in the winter makes it difficult to get that iconic photo. There are also some cool rock formations to check out near the south east side of the bend (turn left when walking down from the trail).
