“Nice Enough Accommodation Though One Night Is Enought”

We stayed at the Lake Powell Resort for one night on our way to Monument Valley.
In retrospect we didn't actually do the resort justice as we considered it more of a stop-over on our 16-day National Parks tour of the USA.
As it happened, we were pleasantly surprised with the shimmering Lake Powell and the Lake Powell Resort.
Our room had a clear view over the lake and as we had a couple of hours to spare before the evening we took a tour of the Lake Powell Dam, which was extremely interesting.
Dinner had to be taken quite late as the restaurant was so busy, but that suited us as we had found for the previous two weeks Americans seem to want to eat dinner so early.
Very comfortable room and a pleasant stay overall.

“Wonderful Hotel”

Lake Powell Resort

Jul 5, 2008

My husband and I stayed for 1 night on June 29th. We arrived at 9:30 a.m. and were able to get our room immediately. We had selected a room with a lake view. I would not say that the view lived up to my expectation, however, I will cut the hotel some slack because of the very early check in. The room itself was very nice and clean.
The resort was fairly busy. Many bus tours were coming and going. I must say that throughout our trip to various national parks we found everything to be busy but not crowded.
The staff was very nice. We had breakfast at the resort and enjoyed it. We also had dinner in the smaller dining room which did not require reservations. This was also good.
We took the 5 hr. boat trip which ultimately leads to a stop and walk to Rainbow Bridge. The trip was excellent and the personnel on the boat were great.
I would highly recommend the resort and any one of the boat tours given.

I think this is the only place you can stay in the Page area which is right on the lake.. we stayed here for 3 nights ..Had an upper room with a lake view which i would definately recommend paying the extra for. Rooms themselves are in need of upgrading especially the air conditioning which is very noisy and impossible to have on at night.

Avoid eating at the Rainbow Room..my husband ordered the castlerock burger and was served a burger & fries straight from Burger King.

“Disappointing”

We were a little disappointed with the resort. They claim the swimming pool was heated however the water was very cold. They advertise a beach area with cabana's, etc. It didn't exist. It was after 2:00pm one day and the only place to get a bite to eat was the Driftwood Lounge. Every table was dirty and had to wait 20 minutes for the single waitress to clean a table and take our order. Look closely at your receipt as there seem to always be added fee's, taxes or even a misc category. We never got an explanation for that one. We found it much cheaper to book our activities directly with the companies rather then through the resort and we also found a greater variety of activities then what the resort was offering by looking through the phonebook. I highly recommend renting a boat for a day to do your own exploring. I also recommend the hummer tour. The rooms were clean and the views are awesome.

We booked trip on Orbitz and did not get a lake view, but then was easily able to obtain a view with no additional charge. There are several hotels in Page, but it is definitely worth any extra charge to stay on Lake Powell. We are from St. Pete, Florida and this was the first leg of a trip where we flew into Flagstaff and drove to Page and ended in Vegas. We did not do the breakfast, dinner or tour boat rides at the Resort. They are rather costly, but the location is amazing!!! The rooms are very comfortable and there are some upgrades like granite countertops in the bathroom, flat screen TV and plenty of channels, private patios in each room and most of all the views. The resort is in a private national part (Wahweap). It would be great if you could get more info on all of the activities offered such as jetski, boat rental, etc. but even if you do none of those things, just looking out at the mesas, bluffs and canyons is breathtaking. You are moments away from Glen Canyon Dam and the welcome center where you can get a host of info on local sights. The food at the restaurants is good. We had breakfast in the Rainbow Room, but loaded up on snacks and goodies at the Walmart which is a few minutes away. There is a small fridge in the room. There were families of cottontail bunny rabbits hopping all over the property -- which drove my daughters wild! We did the Colorado River float which left from the Glen Canyon Dam. This was the most pleasant experience that can be enjoyed by all ages. My 4 and 9 year old daughters and me and my boyfriend were in awe at the sights. The guides are great. LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! Take your family. We are used to vacations at Disney where everything is pointed out and you follow the path. In Arizona, you blaze your own path. Check it out!
