“Great place during the winter months...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We booked a room at Lake Powell Resort and Marina the weekend before Christmas, the staff was very courteous...and wonderful at this time of year. Jeff was friendly and gave us a bit of history about Lake Powell and the Resort. Thank you. The restaurant was closed this time of year, but the bar menu was delicious, and the wonderful girl working the bar was sweet, attentive, and also shared her stories about Lake Powell. The closest town/city to Lake Powell is Page,AZ which didn't have much for restaurant choices or accommodations, Lake Powell Resort was an excellent choice, the rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. Everything you could need, and we had a gorgeous view of the lake. There was a well kept fitness room to use with a sauna. Two pools that were closed for the season but you can see how this would be great in the summer. Lake Powell Resort also allows dogs, and the dogs had a blast, there was so many places for them to included and people were nice to them. We did a tour of Antelope Canyon, Glen Canyon, and other natural treasures where Lake Powell Resort is central. It only took two hours to get to Zion National Park from here, in the summer the Grand Canyon North Rim is not far, and you can get to Monument Valley, and by boat see Rainbow Bridge...I highly recommend. Beautiful place to stay...and lots of natural parks and monuments to enjoy near by.

The only good thing about this Hotel is the view, IF you have a room with lakeview.
The Hotel looks like a artifact from sovjet times, the rooms are dark, and the reception a bit snobby.

If you plan to have a good sleep there, unplug all electric devices (fridge, AC, even the lamp was making noises) when you follow these tips, you'll sleep like a baby.

In low season don't expect any breakfast, lunch, dinner or whatsoever, because this place is truly dead.

Room Tip: Choose lakeview, the receptionist won't ask you to upgrade, you'll just get a room wih a nic...

We were here in the offseason (Nov). Very quiet. Front desk was friendly and helpful with some activity suggestions. Rooms were Ok, average. Tried to eat in the lounge (restaurant closed) but we sat there for 20 minutes and the staff would not come over. We asked twice to get some service and they all said sure but no one came over. The bartender said he would send someone over, even when I asked if we could get some drinks from him and take them to a table. Some ladies at the next table told us the service was really lousy and it's better to drive the 15 minutes to Page - which we did. We went to Page for breakfast also. We would not recommend in the off season unless you get a very cheap rate. Just stay in Page.

The location and view is amazing. The only way my stay could have been better is if I was on a houseboat, which due to the cost is out of the question. The area has everything you need to have an great time.

The scenery alone makes it worth going to. Do book a lake view for your room. Room was ok but a bit cramped. The washbasin area has no space around the basin, but lots of little drawers, which you can use instead. Seems a bit strange. The food is good but not that much variety. Could be difficult if you're staying more than a few days.

Room Tip: See comment above.

The location at Lake Powell speaks for itself. The views and the accommodation are excellent and there is plenty to do for everyone. We stayed here twice this year and experienced excellent customer service each time. We stayed in November and had changed our travel plans at the last minute and arrived at Lake Powell a night before we originally planned to. Despite the original reservation being made on a non-refundable basis, the hotel, without us expecting them to or even asking, kindly refunded the deposit for the original night.

Room Tip: Book a lake view room

Having found the resort on internet I chose it as my wedding place. Being from Europe, I haven't seen the place in real until my big day and I'm glad I took the risk. I was in touch with the event manager by email. She attended to all our requests (not that my husband and I are fussy !) and was nery helpful. I can't compliment floor staff much enough either - all were happy, smiley and attentive. The rainbow restaurant serves delicious food and has amazing views of the lake.
The resort is maintained clean and tidy, the room was neat and clean but I found it a bit dark.
It is a nice resort, lovely location and area, but overall it needs a bit of a facelift to give (the rooms at least) a more modern, bright and contemporary look.
