“Don't stay herre, beware the marina”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2012

Not only is the "resort" way over priced for the condition of the rooms, with the beds short sheeted because they are too small for the mattresses, dirty hot hallways, $15 breakfast buffet with only one long line, freezing cold crowded pool, and a staff who doesn't even acknowledge your existence, but the marina was even worse. We called and reserved a boat, when we got to the marina, no boats. They offered us jet skis instead. The jet skis were all pretty beat up looking, less than half an hour in the water ours capsizes while we are not even moving, and partially sinks. Takes the marina an hour to come get us. Then they tried to keep our deposit claiming we had damaged the engine. I had to spend hours researching jet ski's, and making calls before I got my money back. It also took them over a week to refund the $400 deposit they charged me for the boat they didn't have for us to rent. I would hesitate to stay at any resort run by Aramark after this experience.

If you want to see Rainbow Bridge this is the place to stay. The boat takes of early in the morning and it is well worth the trip. The surrounding scenery is beautiful. We had a lovely room overlooking the lake with a small terrace. The lodge is large with lots of facilities. Not cheap but worth the experience

Room Tip: Ask for one facing the Lake

Spent 3 nights in Jan 2012 with my husband and beagle. Our lakeview room allowed fabulous views of the lake, the moored houseboats and majestic terrain. Sunsets fabulous. Since it was off season restaurant was closed but bar provided a very good menu and super drinks! Also, during Jan. boat tours only available on weekends so we missed out. But we walked the lake and docks
Staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful with area destinations such as Antelope . Canyon tour and Toadstool hike. Bartender was very friendly and attentive. Charge for pet is$20 per day not per visit as some websites say. Gift shop was great and full of helpfu as well as beautiful things. Would go back in a minute but on a weekend for boat tours. If possible go during the shoulder season Sept. Oct.May June the place must be a zoo during the summer.

Only one problem: the sheets on the beds did'nt seem to fit or were put on improperly. I woke to a tangled mess every morning until I remade the bed tucking in the sheets. And although Fox News was listed as available on Channel 25 it was blocked out.Couldn't help but think somebody in theGov. (It is a national park afterall) doesn't want us watching the opposition Weird. But all and all a 100% recommendation.

Room Tip: Lakeview first level bldg 4 or 5 . Definitely worth the extra $$

Our trip to Lake Powell was great. If you are staying at the lake this is the place to stay. Take your camera. Sunrise and sunset pictures are great from here. The resort is top notch. We will be back again.

Room Tip: Try to book a room on the lake side. We got a parking lot view so had to actually walk outside to se...

We stayed here for a 1 night stopover, thinking it might be nice to stay in the National Park since there isn't much else around. The receptionist was friendly but the hotel was musty, dark and older looking. The beds were comfortable but the sheets were just thrown on and were too small to be tucked around the mattress so you got tangled during the night and the matress became exposed. The lake was underwhelming since we couldn't enjoy it's recreational benefits given the time of year. We had to pay a $15 national park entry fee which, with the room rate, meant our stay wasn't really good value for what you got. The food at the hotel restaurant was mediocre and there was nothing else in the area and we had to unplug our fridge because the motor was extremely noisy. The lake is obviously this resort's draw card, if your not using it stay elsewhere.

I was the leader of a group of 50 that enjoyed our 2-night stay at the Lake Powell Resort. They handled our reservations well, and we had great rooms near the lobby and all facing the lake. It was busy at dinner, but we fortunately made reservations ahead of time.
Most of our group took the Canyon Adventures 2.5 hour tour on the Lake, and LOVED it. When unfortunately one of our group became ill, the hotel staff went out of their way to make her comfortable.
This place is not fancy, but you can't beat the location, and the day tours on the Lake are great.

Room Tip: Go for the lake-view rooms. Not that much extra -- and WORTH IT.
