“Five stars from start to finish!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2014

There's no better way to work up an appetite than to hike a couple of the most beautiful scenic trails you could ever hope for in Glacier National Park in Northwest Montana, and no better place to quench that thirst and quell that appetite than the Belton . From the moment we three couples stepped up on to the deck we were greeted with a big smile and warm welcome from our waiter 'Bobby". Seating was promptly arranged for us on the large deck where we were able to continue soaking in the beautiful surroundings. An ample drink menu featured many seasonal specialty cocktails, martinis, and locally brewed beers, all served quickly, correctly, and again with a smile. We arrived at 4:30 to enjoy a cocktail prior to our dinner reservation at 5:30. At 5:00 we were told that whenever we were ready our table was ready and we transferred our drinks inside to the history laden main dining room. The menu was gourmet yet the atmosphere was casual (we had come from a day of hiking, and were not alone). We received prompt and friendly service from our waiter "Joseph" who lead us through the evenings specials as though he had prepared them himself. The menu was diverse both on the appetizer side as well as on the entrée side. Steamed mussels, emu, ahi and crab cakes are only a few of the featured items on the appetizers and bowls menu. The dinner menu was just as diverse featuring salmon, beef, duck, and vegetarian entrees. Montana raised beef was showcased in a bourbon glazed filet my wife raved about. I chose the pork chop seasoned to perfection , served tender and juicy with fresh sautéed greens and the most delicious jalapeño cornbread I've ever had. Vegetarian options were on the menu which more than satisfied our seafood eating vegetarian friends and a vegan mushroom and zucchini soup we all fell in love with.

The Belton was a fantastic dining experience. The staff was friendly and very attentive, the atmosphere welcoming and the food and beverages were fresh, local, seasonal, exquisitely prepared and of the highest quality and wonderfully delicious.

I will not miss this diamond anytime I get back to Glacier.

“Favorite Restaurant When Visiting GNP”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

This is our 7th visit to GNP and the Belton is our favorite restaurant. Weather permitting, we typically enjoy a great dinner on the deck. If bad weather forces us inside, then we eat in the tap room as we enjoy the pub atmosphere. The Belton has menu options in several price ranges - ranging from the less expensive Tap Room menu and salad menu (which can be enjoyed outside, too) to the more expensive dinner menu. Also, they have a good selection of beer and wine. We have eaten at many fine restaurants, and the Belton is one of the best.

“Wonderful Food, Beautiful Nostalgic Atmosphere and Friendly Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

We dined here one evening on a family vacation and made the quick 20 min trip up from Columbia Falls. We didn't have reservations and we could wait 30 minutes for the dining room or immediately sit in the lounge area. The lounge area is much more casual and nice for family. We had wonderful service from the barkeep and I had the best food of my vacation. I had the veal piccata and my husband had the filet. It was pricey but everything was perfectly seasoned and so delicious. The food was melt in your mouth good and local microbrews were amazing. It was a cool rainy evening and cool air blew in from the patio and watching the beautiful stormclouds across the street over the park was great.

“Great Food & Service. Only Place Like it in West Glacier”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

The service and food are the best in West Glacier. The presentation and variety of food was splended. The menue is somewhat limited and they were sold out of the trout when we went. The Elk wrapped in bacon was just perfect. Huckleberry Martinis were enjoyed by the ladies while the beer selction impressed me. The steak was very tender and large and the potatos had a great flavor. I would reccomend that the bar service be quicker. We would have had a few more drinks if they came quicker! While it is the best place for food it is also the most expensive!

“Never got to sit down”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

We were looking for a place to have dinner on Tuesday July 22, 2014 night around 8:15 pm. The hostess at the Belton Chalet asked how many was in our party, we told her 6. She said "Sorry, we are not seating large parties at this time. Can you come back tomorrow?" I was so stunned all I could say was, "Uh, ok". Then she said we can check the bar and see if we can cram the 6 of you together. No thanks, we will take our business elsewhere. We ended up going to Eddies Cafe in Glacier National Park and had a good time with great service. We also decided that we would not eat or drink at the Belton Chalet during our trip. There was also 2 empty tables in the dining area that could have been pushed together.
