We rented a cabin at Apgar Village in June, 2004. The cabin consisted of a small bathroom, a bedroom with 2 beds, and a kitchen with table, chairs, microwave, refreg, sink, stove and coffee maker.
Now, this is not a "fancy" facility. However, I still rated it above average for the location, ease, and staff. Our pre-teens loved staying in a cabin where they could explore the immediate area without our supervision (and they were tired of hotels by then!). And, we loved taking a monetary and dietary break from resturants and picnic meals.
While the furnishings were dated (I felt that I had gone back to the 60's), everything was very clean and in good condition. The kitchen linens were new, the kitchen was adequately stocked and there was coffee and dishwashing detergent.
The facility is located right on the lake with beautiful vistas. It was conveniently located near several short (1 to 4 mile) hiking paths. It is an easy stroll to the visitor's center, ice cream/coffee store, and resturant (get there early if you want homemade pies - they sell out fast).
