How can we add more to the "excellent",well deserved reviews,of Glacier Lodge-all was great experience!Josh is not your typical "inn keeper",guide, cook, coffee maker,[--] artist, story teller etc.Great guy in a great place!Having visited West Glacier for over 50 years,I can attest to the train traffic, but the Lodge is above and beyond all that in a super comfortable room!
We did not meet other staff, but would be remiss if I did not mention that not only were our reservations handled in a personal manner, the staff at the main Glacier business, handled a dinner for over 100 people, including outdoor cooking of steak, fish etc!Dont think many places can do this!
Great place!

I stayed in the Glacier Guides Lodge for 2 + 1 days at the beginning and end of a GNP trip. My pre-arrival experience was excellent in terms of prompt response to enquiries by Judith and Megan. The lodge is well-located and near the west entrance of GNP and the train station, but tucked away so that trains cannot be heard at night. They pick up and drop off from the train station if you are arriving by train (I took the train between West and East Glacier). Breakfast is included. The rooms are spacious and have a mini-refrigerator. The innkeeper Josh is very friendly and helpful. Worth mentioning that cell signal is non-existence inside the rooms but if you step out, then you can make a call.

Overall, this is an excellent place to stay in West Glacier.

On our trip, we stayed in multiple lodgings. The Glacier Guides Lodge was the newest, quietest, and had the largest rooms. The lodge manager was also excellent. I wasn't traveling with children, but if I were, this would have been the best place for them. This was the only lodge from our stay that I am giving an excellent rating.

Great room - two Queen beds, A/C, refrigerator, WiFi, Flat Screen TV. Very very quiet.

Josh, the manager, is the most valuable part of this establishment. Very easy to talk to, knows the park, what trails would fit your ability, and recommendations of where to hike. Plus he recommends places to eat. He offered (and recommends) bear spray for the week that I carried with me. He provided a great breakfast each morning (nothing cooked). I would stay here again.

I enjoyed hiking each area of the park - Logan Pass, Many Glacier, Two Medicine, etc. My wife and I chose hikes from 5-14 miles long with elevation gains of 2300 or less. We are mid fifties and 60. I think if I was going back, I would stay in the Many area for half the trip - to hike the 4-5 trails there and then move to West Glacier area to hike Logan Pass trails. The trip around is 1 1/2 to 2 hours no matter which way you go (mainly because road construction on Going to the Sun Road). That is three to four hours of driving (and not easy driving) each day for one trial.

The only thing is we came in August and it was hot in the afternoon and the Many Glacier Hotel doesn't have A/C.

This hotel at West Glacier, just outside Glacier National Park, offers first-rate rooms and an unusually good buffet breakfast. We were on a three-week trip through several of the parks in the Great Northwest and this was far and away the best hotel we visited.

The best thing about the hotel is Josh, who runs the place and offers extremely knowledgable advice about where to hike and what to see. For instance, he told us about a parking lot at one of the trailheads that is very convenient but just far enough off the main road to be all but empty even at prime hiking time. Josh is a treasure.

I spend a great few days here with a group of hikers. The rooms are great and the public areas are very nice. Lots of outside and inside seating if you need it. Breakfast is good with lots of fruit, cereals, yogurt, breads etc. As other contributors have commented, there is no protein as such on the menu, but you certainly can't go away hungry! This is the only negative I can think of.

Room Tip: Upper rooms have shady afternoon seating on the outside deck area. Lower rooms have private, but ho...

Before I even start this review...Josh (Innkeeper) and Max (the four legged innkeeper) are the best hosts ever. After a long drive from Spokane, we were greeted warmly (providing you yoodle to let them know you have arrived) and shown to our beautiful room on the ground floor. We had a lovely patio area outside where we sat and studied our "What to do if you meet a bear instructions ". Sheets, towels, everything top class. Our daughter fell in love with Max who came to visit her her as we sat outside. This is truly a slice of heaven. I simply cannot recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: Its all good.
