“I dream of returning to Glacier Guides Lodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

Before I even start this review...Josh (Innkeeper) and Max (the four legged innkeeper) are the best hosts ever. After a long drive from Spokane, we were greeted warmly (providing you yoodle to let them know you have arrived) and shown to our beautiful room on the ground floor. We had a lovely patio area outside where we sat and studied our "What to do if you meet a bear instructions ". Sheets, towels, everything top class. Our daughter fell in love with Max who came to visit her her as we sat outside. This is truly a slice of heaven. I simply cannot recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: Its all good.

We stayed in four Glacier NP lodges/ hotels during a nine day hiking holiday. This accommodation provided exceptional value-for-money, peaceful, quiet accommodation and modern, clean bathrooms with incredibly helpful staff. It was our favourite accommodation of the stay (and we also stayed one minute away in another hotel)

First things first: there is no restaurant on-site for evening meals. However, if you want high-end dining eat at The Belton Chalet, a one minute walk away or there are numerous other restaurants within walking distance. Alternatively, if you are exhausted after a ten hour hike (as we were) and cannot face dining in a restaurant, there is a very well stocked supermarket nearby, just inside the entrance to The GNP. It sells a wide range of food and also has a decent range of wine and beer.

We stayed in a ground floor room that had two double beds. The bathroom was clean, the towels were still fluffy and care had been taken to ensure the room was welcoming. there was endless hot water during our stay. The beds were very comfortable and we slept incredibly well on each night of our three night stay. Unlike another hotel nearby, the railway line does not rattle and shake the building and the noise of the road does not disturb one's sleep!

The breakfast was a delight for tired eyes and despite my gluten-free restriction, I was able to leave having a full tummy and raring to go as gluten-free cereals and bread were available (and I did not have to request them)

Free internet access was a huge "gift" as we had four days worth of emails to catch up on.
For cell phone signal we had a short walk down the road to the railway station, a one minute amble away.

Glacier Guides Lodge was a blissful, peaceful oasis in a wood, but located immediately next to the main highway, a gas station and the entrance to GNP. By far, our favourite accommodation of our vacation.

Room Tip: ground floor rooms have a patio, second floor rooms have a balcony.

The lodge is new with spacious rooms - very environmentally conscious in design and maintenance. Not a large inn so it was nice to interact with other guests. The innkeeper was very friendly and helpful. He loaned us a cooler for the day. The continental breakfast was healthy and hearty enough. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. Very clean. We like the location as it was tucked up into the hillside yet convenient to the park.

Newer "green built" facility with comfortable rooms (with free wireless Internet) and great common areas, including tables where free breakfast is served every morning (the fresh baked coffee cake is amazing) and an upstairs lounge with computer and printer. I stayed four nights including a first floor room with it's own back door/patio and a second floor corner room with windows on two sides and great views. Tucked away in a secluded area away from all the tourist crowds of West Glacier (although you can easily walk there if you want). What really rates it my highest recommendation is the staff, especially live-in host Josh who is a wealth of information on the area and goes out of his way to make sure everyone has what they need. Hope to get back again!

The Glacier Guides Lodge has all the best features of a B&B and a newly built lodge. It is quiet and beautiful In the woods, well above the highway. There are comfortable seating areas in sunshine and shade for relaxing. The breakfast is excellent - many choices of cereal, breads, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices. The coffee and fruit are available 24/7.

Josh is an excellent host - he knows the area and will help however needed. Max, his canine sidekick, is well-behaved and an excellent greeter.

The location is perfect - an outstanding restaurant just down the hill and an easy walk to the West Glacier Village with a number of stores, including a grocery store. The drive to the park takes only a couple minutes.

The wooded area is a relaxing spot to return to each evening after viewing the beauty of Glacier. I highly recommend you stay here.

My husband, 2 kids and I spent 3 nights at this lodge from June 27 to June 29th, 2013. It is just outside the park entrance, but tucked away in the woods and very private and quiet. (you cannot hear the train that is close by). The manager(s) were very friendly and very knowledgeable of the park and helpful in directing us on what hikes to take and what not to miss out on in the park. The breakfast was great in the morning. It was the best "continental" breakfast we've ever had. I liked the fact that he counted the guest as they ate breakfast and didn't just close it up the dining room at a certain time...he waited until everyone had eaten. The rooms were clean, spacious, and nice decorated. I hurt my knees on a hike the first day in the park and Josh (manager) lead us to other interesting and easy hikes and points of interest in the park that would keep us from missing out on experiencing this beautiful park and from missing out on enjoying our vacation. You must stay here!

Room Tip: Second floor cabins 11 and 12 are separated from the rest of the lodge by a stairwell and the kitche...
