“The place to stay in Silver City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

We spent just one night here after stumbling upon it on trip advisor. We were very impressed. Our room was spacious and quiet with a modern bathroom. There was a fridge and microwave, too, for leftovers.

Only downsides included two hairs that we found in the bathroom from previous tenants and the pillows were a little to soft.

If in Silver city, we think that this is the place to stay... especially once renovations are complete!

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback about your recent stay in Silver City with us. We are glad you enjoyed our spacious new rooms and amenities. We appreciate the feedback about the hair and pillows as we can make product and service changes for the better. We look forward to showing off our complete remodel on your next trip!

The inn is undergoing a major upgrade. The room we had was already freshly painted and had a tile entry and bath with a granite counter top. The bed was comfortable and there was ample room to move about except when someone was sitting at the work station and someone else wanted to squeeze by the chair and the end of the bed. One nice feature was the relatively quiet air conditioner that ran constantly, and did not wake you by cycling on and off. Also, the controls were on the wall where you could easily see them.
The lobby was closed off when we arrived, because they were redoing the entryway. Also, they appear to be adding to the back of the hotel, so in future, there could be some noisy days.
Breakfast was one of the best I've had at such inns. Along with the usual selection of fruit, cereal, pastries, and toast, there were scrambled eggs, sausage, and (something I had not seen before) a machine that made pancakes to order. All you did was push a button, and one minute later, out popped a pancake.
This was a good hotel and will be even better when the renovations are complete

My husband and I took a little jaunt to Silver City, NM to see the beautiful Gila Wilderness and the Gila Cliff Dwellings. We both found the Holiday Inn to be a nice choice, the room was spotless, very comfortable and the staff was so nice. The housekeepers kept our room immaculate for the 3 night stay. I think the breakfast served up is really a great feature, we both enjoyed the varied selections and how could my beloved husband not be pleased when his most favored biscuits and gravy was available each day? The lady who keeps the breakfast food fresh and lovely was such a sweet woman. One great feature for anyone going to the Gila Cliff Dwellings is the turn off to get there is just 1 block to the west at the stop light from the Holiday Inn. I enjoyed the room! I loved the shower, always a plus to have a great bathroom when away from home. I would definitely stay here again if I make it to Silver City.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are nonsmoking, a huge plus!

This hotel was being remodeled and expanded when we stayed here for two nights in August 2014. Our room was one of the rooms which had been completely redone -- with all new fixtures and furniture as well as new carpet and decorating. In spite of the construction going on, our room was clean and quiet, and all the new features were very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good.

Stayed here 4 nights in June & will be back for another 4 nights in July. Renos going on & a swimming pool going in but rooms remain quiet & comfortable. Nice breakfasts are laid out each morning - bacon, sausages, eggs, yogurt, cereal, eclairs, pancakes, etc. Friendly staff. Free bottled water. Close to Wal Mart & right on one of the main drags in Silver City. Small library of paperbacks, compact exercise room with some nice equipment like treadmills. Will be expanded & even nicer once renos are complete. Recommended.

Room Tip: one room has a balcony if you want to take in the morning sun before it gets too hot - would also be...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

We stayed here for the 4th of July holiday and it's in the process of being expanded and renovated. We had a King Suite and everything was new - fresh paint, new carpet, new furnishings, fabrics, etc. The room was so comfortable and pretty!

Room was spacious and had a microwave and refrigerator. Bed was very comfortable and linens were nice and soft. Internet worked perfectly. Hot breakfast was great.

Hotel is located a bit out of town so you do have to drive to all the restaurants, shops downtown, but it's not far and worth it to enjoy the amenities of this newly renovated HIE. Very close to chains, e.g. Walmart, Albertson's, etc.

Best thing about this hotel is the service. Staff is so friendly and goes out of there way to make you feel welcome and appreciated.

One tiny thing - this is a pet friendly hotel and we brought our dog. There were several empty lots nearby to walk him, but there's not a lot of space to sit outside and relax. A couple of benches in front of the building, but that's it. I'm assuming when the expansion is complete there will be more landscaped area to sit outside.

Will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

Stayed at this HIX last fall. At that time was sorely in need of update. We had the same room and this time the sheets have been updated (no longer thread bare), bathroom was updated (small but adequate and clean, great shower). I'm sure drapes and bed skirts will be updated soon. This will be a fine property when construction and updating of all rooms is complete. Just hope the new windows will be able to be opened so some of that clean/cool (at night) Silver City air can come in. Millie and Bret are great.
