“Yum yum yum yum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

I give this place 4 yums up! I got the chicken biscuit. Crispy chicken cutlet on a buttermilk biscuit slathered in hot sauce and honey butter. To die for. Tried the pecan donut too. Also delicious. I love this place! The staff was friendly. The background music set a chill atmosphere. Cute back patio. Loved every bit!

“Scrumptious chicken”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

The chicken and wheat waffles were great. Their claim to fame has to be the chicken and the pies, because everything else was just ordinary. Mac n cheese, with a dash of tobasco, why add hotsauce? isn't that usually a personal choice? the biscuits were cold and hard, and when cold, they are heavy. The chicken was very tasty and the apple pie was awesome......

“Worth the hype”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013 via mobile

Freakin fantastic. Chicken dishes are awesome. I had waffles and chicken for the first time here and now I get it. Cheesey grits taste like my imaginary southern nan used to make. Way too much food for dessert. I need a nap

“The chicken was what it claimed to be”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

We went to Pies-n-Thighs on Friday, Sept 13th. The wait outside was minimal, maybe 15 minutes. Usually when we show up at these restaurants from food blogs, tv shows and magazines, it does not live up to the food hype. This chicken is definitely worth the trip. It was crispy, not greasy, the right amount of salt, hot out of the oil and onto my plate. I had the collards, YUM! and my boyfriend had the black eyed pea salad. I'm from a southern family and this reminded me of food my mom used to make. Brooklyn soul food restaurants better take note. We also had the apple pie, it was good; Not mind blowing, but good. BTW, the address listed here is incorrect. The restaurant is on S 4th and Driggs not Kent Ave.

“Finger Lickin' Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

I heard about this restaurant from DDD (Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives) from the Food Network also and it was very easy to find. The Pies-N-Thighs is located right across the Williamsburg Bridge and is definitely worth the trip. The restaurant was pretty small and the wait was about an hour on a Saturday Evening. Ordered the Chicken Box, Catfish Box and Chicken and Waffles to share amongst my friends. The chicken was fried perfectly, juicy and delicious and there was nothing left on our plates. The catfish was also as delicious but a portion was a bit smaller. This is definitely a place worth going out of your way for, if you can stand a wait for tables.
