An average rating is generous though there were a few good qualities. The room was tiny but clean, staff was cordial. The neighborhood is "sketchy" near the train (10 minute walk)but little else. The coffe available "24/7" was always lukewarm, even for breakfast. Our biggest complaint is that we were put on the first floor near the breakfast room.It was almost constant noise. All night and of course escalating starting at 6am.Really raucous. If you do plan to stay,be sure to ask for a room on another floor.

Room Tip: Ask for anything above the first floor!

I was looking for a hotel near BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). The reviews were good (4.5). Where have these reviewers stayed in the past? This is a hell hole stuck in the middle of a warehouse area. Yes, BAM is within walking distance (a healthy walk), but there is nothing between this hotel and BAM. This hotel is dirty. It has no security. I don't know how the free breakfast is because I wouldn't eat here. I arrived at about midnight after a show. I stood in the lobby waiting for someone to assist me; there was only one clerk there. He was helping two girls. Twenty minutes went by, it was now well after midnight, and the lobby was filling up with people looking to get rooms. This was bizarre. While I waited and waited (the girls had to go to their car to look for more change to cover the room fee), more people arrived in ripped clothing looking for a room, I was looking at the filthy carpet, the dirty walls, the stained furniture, and I decided to drive home because it was only an hour and half trip.
My advice: Either drive across the bridge to Manhattan or stay in a different section of Brooklyn. This hotel is unacceptable on all counts.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel.

I enjoyed our stay here at the Comfort Inn. We were attending an event at the Barclays Center and were worried about this hotel being a little bit afield and not near a subway stop. We were pleased by the hotel itself and found the location ok. Yes, the neighborhood looks a little sketchy and maybe not the best to walk around at night, but we had no problems. A cab from/to the Barclays was only $6, so for peace of mind, we opted for that. The walk itself to the Barclays wasn't that bad either.

The hotel itself is new and the staff was welcoming and polite, even to us country bumpkins from out of town. I would stay here again without hesitation.

My husband and I were looking for a hotel in Brooklyn for a small getaway and the rate for this hotel was reasonable as were the reviews but what a mistake! First it's in a quite shady area (as is all of Brooklyn), secondly they don't tell you online that they charge you $35 PER NIGHT for parking (they mention that when you check in) and they charge you a $50 "security deposit" that will be refunded when you check-out. Secondly the room is ok, but old and the pleather on the desk chair was falling off and the alarm clock was falling apart and was not set to the correct time. We will not be returning to this hotel ever again and I would not recommend it.

We came to the Comfort inn on a thursday morning in march from Montreal. We had a nice warm welcome from the staff Mr.Stein & Ms Navarra. They were able to accomadate our needs very quickly and we had a fridge and microwave sent to our room later on.The personnel are polite and I would recommend this Hotel based on my experience.

Stayed for ten nights in January 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The staff were great, all extremely friendly and very helpful in giving us tips and advice on the area. They even seemed genuinely disappointed upon our departure.

Rooms are not huge but are big enough and come with comfortable beds, a good television (with a ton of channels) and clean bathrooms. The complimentary breakfast is exceptional, containing cereal, bread, toast, waffles, bagels, croissants, yoghurt, coffee, juice and milk. Really cannot complain at all.

Our stay coincided with a two-day blizzard which saw us stuck inside, but thanks to the large selection of television channels, we were able to pass the time.

The location is good in terms of the fact that it is only six or so blocks from the subway station which will get you anywhere, as well as the fact that it is only a couple of blocks over from Fifth Avenue, which has a variety of restaurants and grocery stores. Only negative is that the streets in the immediate surrounding area could be seen as slightly sketchy, although we never had any problems.

Thank you for a great stay, would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone travelling to New York!

Great price to stay in Brooklyn. We were in town for a funeral so it was convenient for us. Parking is $35 a day, but a good insurance policy if you are going to be in and out a lot. Not fancy or modern, but convenient and comfortable. The staff is great, friendly and helpful. We were on the 4th floor, no noise issues. If you stretch, you can see Manhattan from your room :)

Room Tip: 4th floor rooms were quiet. One slow elevator so if you are in a hurry, stay low or plan to take th...
