“Family-friendly italian on Vanderbilt Ave”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2014

We've been going (mostly for take-out, but occasionally to stay) to Amorina for years. The young, hip staff are unfailingly helpful, friendly and very efficient. Young families abound in the early evenings - sampling great individual pizzas and tasty pasta dishes. The special pizza - known as the "Will to Live" pizza changes regularly and often features unusual combinations - most of them quite tasty. Reasonable wine prices add to the attraction. A great local gem!

“Very good pizza and pasta in Brooklyn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

Recently dined here with a larger group and baby and they were very accomodating given the small dining room space. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was definitely very good. It was not the best pizza or pasta I have ever had - but it's definitely worth a visit. I recommend the pizza - - the CAPRICCIOSA pizza is really tasty and the spaghetti and meatballs is very good, too. The rest of the group sampled many of the pizzas - they are definitely big enough to share with 2-3 people depending on what else you order. Overall, this place is worth a visit when in the area.

“Marvelous pizza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

I absolutely love the pizza here. The topping combinations are creative and the food is just delicious. The service is good and the decor, with mismatched chairs, is relaxed and charming. It's quiet and you can really have a conversation.

“Classic Neighborhood Italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

Wonderful pizzas, great salads (endive w goat cheese, and the arugula w chickpeas in particular), good pasta. Lots of fresh ingredients from the local farmer's market just a few blocks away so the specials always change. Friendly service, reasonable prices. What's not to like?

“Low-key, local gem for pizza, pasta on a budget”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

Amorina is just a few blocks off of Grand Army Plaza (2 or 3 subway) or 7th Ave stop (Q subway) on Vanderbilt Ave. Local young-ish families flock here for the individual thin-crust pizzas and good pastas. Try the daily special pizza ("Will to Live") - always different and often scrumptious. Small, reasonably priced wine list. Owned by local restauranteur Albano Ballerini (who also runs the upscale gem "Aliseo" a block or so away). Young, attentive staff make this a fun place for families, those on a budget - also to take-out and delivery. A great local eatery for the Park Slope/Prospect Heights crowd.
