“Could have been better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

The hotel was nice. The staff was nice. The building layout is odd, but to be expected for the minimal space in NY. There were police and ambulances going pass with sirens on often, so that was a bit annoying. I was there only for one night, literally to stop and sleep. I would have rated this hotel one dot higher, but the blanket/comforter had a particular strange smell to it. I couldn't put my finger on what it smelled like, but i didn't like it and it was quite annoying to get to sleep. I would get a whiff every now and then and be put off. The room was a bit cramp, but again, to be expected in a NY hotel. Bathroom decently clean.

Room Tip: Not sure, but maybe ask for a room in back of the building as a pose to the front where you can hear...

The hotel itself was good. Very avarage. Staff was very kind, room pretty clean, and breakfast was fresh. My only complaint was the area. I would not stay here again. A bus stop directly in front and dunken donuts across the street.

This is a very nice Hotel located centrally in Brooklyn. The beds are very big and comfortable and the rooms are cleaned. The front desk staff was very friendly. This is my second time staying at this hotel and each time was an enjoyable stay.

Needed a place to stay on short notice. Neat, clean, quiet, well run and excellent value. Easy access to public transportation. My daughter noticed that they have great pillows, something we noticed at other Comfort Inns. Good breakfast and Mike's Diner across the street was a real treat. Happy to give it a good review.

The staff were very nice and cooperative, especially Mr. Patel. The room is smallish but comfortable and clean. Breakfast is good. Neighborhood is the only problem, especially at night. Easy access to train and buses that would take you anywhere in New York.

First, a disclaimer: I grew up a few blocks from this location, and though I do not live in New York anymore I still have family who live in the area, so I am used to the neighborhood. I have used this hotel several times when visiting Brooklyn. The area can appear "grungy" due to all of the commercial activities, particular various car and mechanical businesses along Utica avenue, but it is a lot safer than it seems. Utica Avenue is a busy thoroughfare so there are always people around.

The hotel staff was pleasant and the requests we made were taking care of in a timely fashion. The lobby is pretty minimal and not really a place to hang out and relax. The rooms I have had are small but clean. They have a very small breakfast area (about 4 tables), but the last time I was there (September 2014) they were serving fresh cooked breakfast which was fine.

There is a bus stop outside of the hotel that will get you to the subway in 5-15 minutes (depending on traffic or stops), or if you like to walk it will take you about 15 minutes. The subway line will take you right to downtown Brooklyn or into Manhattan; for example, to Times Square is less than an hour.

The most inconvenient aspect of the hotel is parking. They have limited parking spaces in front of the hotel (maybe 4-5) and behind (maybe 6-8), It is VERY narrow getting to the lot behind the motel and parking - anything bigger than a mid-size car or SUV will have a VERY tricky time trying to park it. If the spaces are full you'll have to find parking on the street, most likely in the neighborhood behind the hotel, and you might have to park more than a block away.

Generally I would say this hotel is good when you need a place to stay but will be out working/sightseeing/visiting family and friends much of the day. It is not a place with a lot of amenities, just a small but clean and comfortable hotel.

Room Tip: The most activity you here will be around the elevators, so try to get a room away from there.

Everything is inconvenient, but once you're in the room it's OK. Room is smallish, but fine for 1 person. Comfortable bed. Lots of bodegas nearby. Little parking. Rate is OK for area with few budget choices.
