Really like this place and try to visit it each & every time being in Bay Ridge (the Mediterranean dining Mecca of New York City to my fair belief). It's warm, cozy & kind of rustic, & actually good to be visited in any kind of company - family, friends, colleagues, etc. The combination of grilled baby octopus for appetizer, braised lamb shanks for main course, and baklava for dessert has never failed me so far. The only reason of not giving this place the highest rate for the food is from-time-to-time inconsistency in quality: it's like sometimes they have a substitute chef or a chef in a bad mood in the kitchen... it's still good meals, but not as good as usually. On the side note, I've noticed that the drinks from the bar have the same problem... When the barkeep is in place, it's OK, when the drinks are mixed by one of the elder guys reading paper/talking near by the front window or by the girl managing the sitting, they come out simply perfect, but sometime very strange characters take a charge - once I actually saw a bass-boy mixing our drinks... and it came out awfully. Guessing this is the family-owned place :) ...with the attributed many pros and very few cons.
