I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and the one thing I remember was the fabulous Italian food you could get no matter where you ate. Well, not any more.
Cutting to the chase: The dressing on the very unexciting Caeser salad appetizer was DRY. How can you make "dry" dressing? The chicken portobello was just okay. My daughter's pizza was passing. But the worst part was the service. They took forever to come to the table. Then, when I asked for iced tea, and finally got it--it had sugar in it. I cannot have sugar. I asked the waiter if there was sugar in it and he said yes. I asked if there had to be sugar in it and had to wait until another waiter came over. I was told that they could make the ice tea without sugar. It came back, and still tasted of sugar. I complained and the waiter started to laugh. I said, "I can't have sugar, do you find this funny?" Still laughing, he said, "No." I didn't drink it. I think there was still sugar in it and they wouldn't tell me.
Even trying to get a check to leave was a problem.
Never ever going there again. There are 100's of fabulous Italian restaurants in NYC--you can do much better.
