“What a delight.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

We live in an area with limited choices of ethnic restaurants, so when in New York we always try to find things that are not available at home. This was a terrific choice. It was a short walk from the Aloft Hotel, where we were staying. The curb appeal is minimal but the reviews convinced us to try it. You walk past the kitchen to get to the dining room. There is an "outside" dining area beyond that. If you go you must try the garlic bread.... so different from what we expected and out of this world! The lambajin and the humus were great. Service was quick and the servers were pleasant. Keep in mind...no alcohol. Not a problem for us, but it might be a disappointment for some. We'll head back there again.

“Eat here! Fabulous neighborhood treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2012

This was our second visit to this restaurant and it was a nice experience. The food was very good - we shared a large plate of babaghanouj, mopping it up with freshly baked pita bread. I had the Harira soup (chickpeas, lentils, spices) and the lambajin pitza (tasty meat spread over a personal pizza). We also ordered a falafel plate, marinated chicken sandwich, and leg of lamb sandwich - everyone thought their meal was delicious and satisfying. We sipped a nice hot mint tea. I could imagine myself in a Bedouin tent and the arabic music helped provide an authentic (and enjoyable) ambience. Service is fast, efficient, and friendly. This is a nice change of pace and a thoroughly relaxing lunch treat.

“a great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011 via mobile

Walking distance from the Sheraton hotel. The fresh made bread from the stone fired Oven was delicious. We ordered seconds on bread! My 14 year old was curious about the making of the bread and the gracious cook showed him each step. The choice of 5 salads as a meal is a good way to explore middle eastern cuisine. The 5 I choose were beet salad, hummus, feta, stuffed grape leaves, salsa.

“Wonderful Middle Eastern and Turkish Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2010

We had a great, reasonably-priced meal here -- the two of us split the sun-dried tomato and ricotta pizza (fabulous!), the mix of vegetarian salads (very good), and the bousbousa dessert (semolina and honey -- sweet but not overly so -- terrific!), all capped off by perfectly done Turkish coffee. We also got a kick out of the colorful wall hangings and appreciated the very courteous service. All in all, this was a lucky find (we stumbled on it), and we'd gladly return here again.
