“Craft beer lovers Delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

Simply said. Yes, an easy to miss location. Essentially a long room with taps, a long bottled beer list, a few cheese and meat place, and great brews with knowledgeable tenders. They even have a beer made for them; a double IPA. We were told they have some kind of special taps. Not sure what that is but the brews were great!

“Beer lovers bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

By far the best bar I've been to in NYC. And I've been to a lot of those. Quite unusual setting - pretty nothing on the outside to identify it, go by the address on Google maps. No neon ads for Pubst and Budweiser in the windows. Thankfully none of this stuff inside either. Interior for those who never been to Denmark would appear to be of a well appointed bathroom. On Sunday we went there the on tap list was something like 24 brews. Maybe 21, I went to website to double check and found nothing. Anyway, you won't find any of the beers there anywhere else in the city. Well, I didn't. Started with Port Even More Jesus and fell in love. Cost 8 bucks for 250 ml or so, and well worth it. Jesus without the Port turned out quite good also. And so on. I took my risks by the glass, but they have little tasting timbles also. Everybody in our party loved their beers, even those who don't like beer much. Warning - you won't find pitchers of Coors here, no Guinness or any other run-of-mill stuff. Most likely you won't recognize anything on tap or in the expansive bottle section. A lot of the beers are from Evil Twin, the brewery which puts out stuff consistently ranked in the 90s by ratebeer. Another warning - the food menu is 4 items long, no mozzarella sticks or wings. Meat plate, cheese plate, bread, and something that looked like grilled cheese sandwich. Got both plates, both very good. If that's not clear yet, Torst is the place where you get to enjoy great beer. There are lots of other places where one can stuff himself on the cheap.
