“Longest Suspension Bridge In The U.S.A.!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

The Verrazano is the longest suspension bridge in all of the U.S. Why is the Golden Gate so much more popular? Probably because it's red, or maybe because it is not a pedestrian or bicyclist bridge. Motor vehicles only are allowed on the bridge.

A waterfront park/path travels along the Brooklyn side for about 2 miles in each direction. This path is great for a bike ride, and is also a decent place to bird watch. Plus the pier at the Western end has a great view of Downtown Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. At night the bridge is lit up nicely.

The major downside to the bridge is the toll, which is currently $13 for a round trip.

“One of the Wonders of Brooklyn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

What needs to be said other than as a Brooklynite, its a Great Bridge with fabulous views of the NY harbor as the Narrows. Early morning when the fog and low hanging clouds are moving in from off the water, the bridge takes on a beautiful mystical appearance. Only two wishes is that they reduce the ridiculous toll ($13) and hoped a walkway would have been built.

“Home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

This is the hallmark of our trips home to New York from the South! Coming into Brooklyn on a clear day, you can see the magnificent New York Skyline, New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty. When we see the Verrazano come in to view, we know that we are home!

“Golden gate of east”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

I have been to Golden gate bridge 2-3 times. This bridge reminded me of that bridge so much.
It has nice park like area for jogging or relaxing, it's good for evening walk or a relaxing stroll. There is a toll to cross the bridge but you can just see it from brooklyn side.

“Most Beautiful Bridge for a Metropolitan Area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012

Especially during off-peak time, you can whizz thru and enjoy the view of the bridge from the Belt Parkway and on the bridge! No wonder the bridge was filmed in a lot of movies, for example, Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta.
