“One of the best ways to see New York”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Here's the deal - take the subway to the Brooklyn Bridge before dusk. Walk across to Brooklyn and then make your way to the DUMBO stop in the Brooklyn Bridge Park and pay only $4 for a ticket. Ride it to 34th Street and enjoy the view of Manhattan as the lights come up and then walk to the Empire State Building for a night view of the city. What a bargain and high value!

“What a difference a ferry makes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

When staying in Manhattan the ERF is a great way to get to Brooklyn, eg. Dumbo or Williamsburg. Not only you'll get some fresh air, you also get a great view of the skyline. When staying in Williamsburg of Dumbo, this is a terrific means of transportation to get to Manhattan/Wall Street. Just to avoid the smell of the subway for once. The ferry has special weekend and summer schedules. Hop on and explore the other New York!

“Enjoyable ride”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

We took the ferry to Statue Island and Ellis island, both times were nice. The ferry's were very clean and spacious. The staff on board were more than helpful as well.

“"See NYC skyline from the waterways"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2012

New to the Brooklyn, Queens area is the East River Ferry! What a wonderful way to travel from NYC or vice versa whether its for work, leisure or business. Finally New York is using their waterways to the fullest. This experience was fun, relaxing and efficient and we enjoyed a viewpoint that others usually do not get to see.
For $4. per person, you can travel from midtown to wall st. inclusive of 5 stops beginning from Long Island in Queens to Dumbo Brooklyn to get across to the city. There is even a free shuttle at the midtown location (34th( st. that follows city bus stop avenues along cross town streets that you can hail like a taxi. We enjoyed the ride in the winter and found the ticket service easy using automated terminal ticket machines. Bicycle friendly and handicapped accessible. Boats are clean, warm and with great views as we traveled under major bridges! A treat when visiting family and cannot wait to enjoy it again in the summer. A great alternative from the taxi!!!!
