“Pleasant Accomodations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

We stayed two nights (3 days in New York area). This is a non-smoking hotel. All of the receptionists were very helpful & informative. The included Breakfast was very good; great selection of items. We used the free shuttle to/from the Smith & 9th Train station several times & we never had to wait long. The room was clean, but there was no maid service during our stay. This was not communicated to us, but it didn't make a difference for our short stay. Overall, we felt it was very good value.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 1st floor, so an easy walk up.

I stayed two nights with my husband and daughter. We arrived late at night. The check in process was a little disappointing. Not even the breakfast hours were informed to us. Our room (two double beds) was small, and not microwave nor mini fridge were available. The room was not clean enough. The tub had hair. We liked the free breakfast. At night, the area around the hotel is deserted.

Last week, I was visiting the city with my friends and didn't wanna drive back home the same night. We stayed at this hotel and surprisingly it had very nice room with modern amenities. Breakfast ws very good. Mr. Dayvid at the front desk was very helpful. Manhattan was just about 5 minutes away through Battery tunnel which worked great for us. All-in-all we had very comfortable stay.

Had a room in this hotel at the beginning of September, 5 nights. Hotel itself is in a good condition in, rooms are clean and large enough.

Some things we didn't like about this hotel:
The few receptionists we saw (about 3 different girls, in total) were mostly clueless about everything. When we asked two of them where the next bus station is, we got basically answered: "There is none, use the shuttle service". They also didn't know where we could find the next supermarket. At least they knew how the check-in and check-out process works...
By the way: Some googling turned out that there is a bus station within 5min walk (Van Brunt St).

Next negative point is the breakfast, or rather the breakfast room. During the first three days of our stay the toaster in the breakfast room triggered the fire alarm randomly. The alarm caused quite loud beeps every few seconds for about 1 min. The real annoyance was that apparently noone of the staff (which was walking through the room taking care of the breakfast) cared about that and didn't stop the horrible sound. Eventually, the alarm timed out and everything was fine. Not sure what happened on day 4 and following, at least it didn't happen again then.

Hotel is located in some kind of industrial area (metal working, mostly). It doesn't really feel inviting to walk from the bus station to the hotel at 10pm, to be honest, but other than that it is okay. From the bus station it's about 15min to Jay Metro Station via bus (Jay Metro Station itself has good connections to Downtown Manhatten), so it's perfectly fine for visiting NYC.

We needed a room for an evening arrival before a cruise. I chose the Comfort Inn because of the price, proximity to the cruise terminal, shuttle to the terminal, free wifi & free breakfast.

Arriving at LGA, we took a cab to the hotel. It took 25 minutes on a Friday evening, and cost $37+tip. When we got to the check-in desk, there was a “back in 15 minutes” sign on the counter. We waited about 5 minutes, then were quickly checked in. Our room was on the 3rd floor. It was large enough and contained a king bed, LCD TV, safe, and a coffee machine. It was clean & comfortable, and the A/C worked well.

The free wifi worked without issue – the password was available at the front desk. The free breakfast was ok. It offered: eggs & sausage which were microwaved, bagels, toast bread, mini donuts, waffle batter/waffle iron, cereal, fruit, coffee, juices. We just had a bagel, waffle and juice. Neither one of us liked the coffee. Overall, it was fine considering it was “free”.

There were 2 negatives for our stay. The first being that the ice machines did not work on the 2nd & 3rd floors. I had to make my way down one flight at a time to find this out, then inquire at the front desk to be told that I needed to take the elevator to the basement to get ice. It would have been nice to be told at check-in, so I didn’t need to go exploring with my empty bucket. The second negative was with the free shuttle. There was only one van taking everyone to the cruise terminal, which resulted in a very long wait. After waiting for a short period of time, and speaking to other people in front of us, we realized that it would take too long for us to get on the shuttle. We had the front desk call a cab, and were told it would take 15 minutes for one to arrive. We waited the 15 minutes and when it still had not arrived, we decided to walk to the terminal. For us this was a good decision and I would do it again. The terminal is just a couple of blocks away from the hotel, and once there you need to walk down a long road to get to the cruise check in. It took us 10-15 minutes to get there.

All that being said, it was a good stay and I would recommend it for a night before a cruise.

We stayed here while spending a couple days in NYC before leaving on a cruise. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and free breakfast is always a plus. They even have free laundry which was very convenient. There is a free shuttle to the subway station and to the cruise terminal but the wait can be long sometimes. We walked to the subway station one morning which took about 15 minutes and was a very nice walk (once you get across the foot bridge over the freeway). We even ventured out at night and found a place that has really good lobster rolls just a short walk away. We would definitely stay here again if visiting NYC.

Everything about the hotel was perfect for the money you pay. The location could have been a little bit closer, other than that totally recommend.
