People go to Dyker Heights for one reason - to see all the houses decorated for Christmas. Most every house on most every block does a fantastic job decorating for the neighborhood and for visiting tourists. The kids will love it. Husbands & Wives or b/f's & g/f's will enjoy a stroll holding hands. BUT...
It's a traffic nightmare. Find a spot a couple of blocks away and walk. If you drive down these blocks, don't expect to see more that 1 house every 30 minutes. People stop their cars, get out, take pictures, stand around - - - ALL while you're trying to get your view.
Also, please don't block driveways and please don't throw trash in the street. And NEVER walk onto someones' property without being invited.
These are "People's Homes" They live there with their families; mothers & children and grandparents.
This is NOT a Theme Park - this is not the Osbourn Family Lights at Disney.
Every year people come to visit and get over excited - they make a mess and act as if there's a park ranger to clean-up after them. PLUS, you have people who think they're allowed to walk up onto someone's stoop. Please be respectful and stay on the sidewalk.
