My friend and I joined the Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO neighbourhood tour on 8th December 2012. Just after the hurricane and floods. We met in front of the Tweed Courthouse and uncle Jeffrey immediately started giving us interesting facts about this area of New York. What a real gentleman, gracious and funny. We continued our tour to the bridge, stopping very now and then to listen to more interesting facts. I suffer badly with vertigo, but was kept occupied listening to uncle Jeffrey's tales and funny stories. It was a shame that on the day we did the tour it was very misty, so it was difficult to see down the river.
When we left the bridge we were in Brooklyn and quickly arrived at the DUMBO area. Uncle Jeffrey pointed out where some of the popular american TV programmes were filmed. There was a fabulous smell of the freshly cut Christmas trees for sale on the side walks. We visited an art gallery, very nice and then we went to a fantastic chocolate shop and purchased hot chocolate (a chocoholics dream). I've never tasted anything to compare. We had a fantastic day and a wonderful stay in this great city. Will most certainly be back.
