“Nice stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and had a pleasant stay for the most part. The room was modern with nice furnishings and a flat screen TV. The room was fairly clean however, we would have liked for the bathroom to be a little cleaner as there were stains on the walls and in our particular room, there was old gum stuck in the carpet, but overall the stay was pleasant. There is very limited parking maybe a total of 10 spaces but we were able to find a space in the evening all of the nights we stayed instead of 1 evening in which we had to park a several blocks down the street. The neighborhood seemed pretty safe as well and there is a subway/dunkin donuts and pizza parlor across the street from the hotel. The subway to take into Manhattan is a couple of blocks over which was very nice! Overall our stay was pleasant.

Had a nice stay here September 14-16. Booked 2 rooms. Quick check in, helpful front desk. Rooms small but clean and serve the purpose. Very comfortable beds/linens and AC worked well. Could use more pillows though. Just a few blocks from the subway, safe neighborhood, restaurants and bars nearby. Decided to drive into city rather than taking train and was able to get a free parking spot in the hotel lot at 9pm on Friday night. Seemed to be a few open spots most of the time.

This was our second stay at this hotel. We stay here for the value....good price for a hotel stay only 30 minutes via subway from Midtown. The hotel needs updating in both the common areas and the rooms. They have started the update of the breakfast area. Nice continental breakfast. Standard room in quality and size. The room are always very clean. Good room temperature controls. Front desk very pleasant and helpful. One day we did not receive wash cloths. Told by the maid service that they were out of this item. We informed the front desk and the wash cloths were in our room on our return later that night. A negative......often one can hear other loud guests in their room from the hallways. Therefore if your neighbor is loud you will hear them from your room.

This hotel is located in a mix residential\commerce area. This area of Park Slope is very safe. The hotel is 5 blocks from the 4th Ave\9th Street subway. The main commercial street is 5th Ave. The stores on 5th Ave provide any service one may require and there are plenty pizzerias, delis, restaurants and bars.

I stayed here two nights for business. Clean, modern, they are renovating, great service, all in all I am very pleased. It's close to the subway, so getting in to manhattan was a breeze. There's a bar two doors down, really cute place, and a coffee shop, and on the next block a dunkin donuts/subway combination. Also, there's a restaurant/bar called Draft House across the street on the next block. The food was very good. I never felt unsafe in this area. The thermostat is great, it works well, and my only gripe is the placement of the desk. It's right next to the a/c unit so I couldnt work at the desk because it was too cold. Breakfast is small, but free and from 6-9. Bagels and orange juice for me, worked out just fine. The beds and pillows are nice as well no complaints there at all.

Room Tip: I was in 303, overlooks the manhattan skyline. My friend got 306 and had a brick wall.

This is a typical La Quinta. The rooms are small, (ours was about 12 ft. square) but it was comfortable. The bed was good, the TV was right for the room, the Hotel was quiet, and the bathroom was very nice. A/C was satisfactory, and the thermostat worked well. The hotel appears to have been recently renovated, and there is still some work going on, but there was no mess, noise, or inconvenience The workmanship is excellent.

The staff is small but friendly, and there is no bell service or concierge, but we were able to get the help we needed when we needed it. "Room Service" is Domino's Pizza or some local take-out delivery places, but there wasn't much space to eat anyway. A walk up to 5th avenue will take you to the main area for shops and restaurants. A nice deli across the street serves very good breakfast and lunch. There is a good grocery on 4th avenue and 13th street, a block away.

The hotel offers a free breakfast on the second floor until 10am. You can make a nice Belgian waffle with some adequate toppings, have coffee, tea, juice, bagels, bread, toast, and hardboiled eggs in the small dining area (more like a break room.) Quite nice.

Like most of the LQ chain, the emphasis seems to be on value, and it succeeds.

Room Tip: Ask for what you need, like extra towels.

The hotel has been newly renovated, so the rooms are very clean, very modern, and the beds are very comfortable. The hotel staff was really nice and helpful with all of our directions, as well. The hotel sits in the middle of an industrial area, but the area is on it's way up and is very safe, as we had taken several strolls at midnight during our eight day stay. It also has a nice wine shop, coffee shop, corner pub, and cafe, all within a few blocks. Across the street is a subway sandwich shop, dunkin donuts, plus a dollar (clerks rude though) store. Just a little side note about the pizza in New York. We tried Grimaldis, we tried Rays, but we found the best pizza across the street at Villa Mias. Oh, the subway is just a quick four blocks away, and it will connect you to where you need to go. Manhattan is so very easy, just about a 20 minute ride. Enjoy!

Always thought those T-shirts were cheesy, but after my first visit to NYC I am hooked! I came to the big apple for the first time, and had a wonderful time! This hotel was perfect for me, as it was only a few block from the subway and I could get to and from the city cheaply and quickly. I loved it! They had free breakfast, so I was set to explore without worrying about eating all the time!! The hotel was clean and the staff was soooo nice!! They explained how to use the subway and gave me idiot proof directions so I wouldn't get lost! They really looked out for me and my friend because we really didn't have a clue. I felt taken care of, and the rooms were so clean! I am definitely coming back and staying here!

Room Tip: Don't bring a car, you totally don't need one. The subway is so close to the hotel.
