“I wouldn't stay anywhere else”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

I felt so lucky to find this place. Just 5 or 6 blocks off the subway line which was made very easy to use because Mark gave us a map and explained how to take the train and also gave us great advice to get the 7 day pass witch more than paid for itself. I felt like I lived there complete with our own stoop. I really would never stay anywhere else.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Fort Greene apartment, Vanderbilt. The location, room and amenities around Fort Greene were all perfect. The fact that this building is in a national historic district made the experience even more magical. The park right across the street allows for great running, as well as a beautiful fruit and vegetable farmers market on Saturday.
I highly recommend this area and the Fort Greene apartments!

We had a very comfortable stay at Lefferts Manor. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and it was great to have a separate, well equipped kitchenette. We thought we would mind sharing a bathroom more than we actually did. It was in an interconnecting passage betwen the two rooms so quite private really. The area was great with easy access to BAM and high quality eateries. Mark did a sterling job connecting us with the car that he had arranged to meet us at JFK, met us at the apartment, gave us lots of info and left us to enjoy our stay. The only down side was that we had chosen an apartment overlooking Forte Green Park as we knew we would enjoy the view. Unfortunately the front of the house is under renovation which made the room a little dark and the view was obstructed by scaffolding. It would have been good to know this in advance but did not realy spoil our stay.

Great over-size room across from Fort Greene Park. Close walk to subway. Enjoyed the Brooklyn Flea Market down the street. Very clean room and the most comfortable bed! Loved the charming decor and period feel. Would highly recommend this property. Mark was the perfect host and a wealth of information. Thanks again - I hope to return someday!

My sister and I had a splendid week-long stay at Lefferts Manor. We were looking for private bath lodging, so Mark booked us into the Lafayette (one of the Ft. Greene apts.), but explained that the room was booked for our final night, so he transferred us to the main B&B for our final night.
The Lafayette is a gorgeous garden level apartment overlooking Fort Greene park with 2 lovely bedrooms. The large room is large enough to hold a dinner dance in, and beautifully decorated with Moroccan antique chests and the most comfortable king-sized bed I have ever slept in. True, there is no TV, but it's NYC...why waste time watching TV? Super-tidy, full kitchen, fabulous cafes and restaurants footsteps away (don't miss the new "Madiba" around the corner- South African food- excellent!), 3 subway lines and the Brooklyn Academy of Music a couple of blocks away...why on earth would anyone stay in a Manhattan sardine can room for more than twice the price?

I really enjoyed my stay at Lefferts Manor Bed and Breakfast. Everyone was very kind, helpful, and welcoming. The room was extremely clean and breakfast delicious. I would definitely suggest this bed and breakfast for anyone looking for a nice place to stay that is more homey than a large chain hotel. Even though I was traveling, I felt right at home!

It was the perfect fit for us. Staying in a Brooklyn Brownstone was a great change form the anonymity of hotels we stayed during our trip. It was a bit like traveling back in time being in such a historic neighborhood. Thanks to Marks incredible local knowledge we found our way around rather quickly. Exciting restaurants near by, safe to walk around at all hours.
