Beautiful museum has a great outdoor area since the renovation. The permanent collection is nice and the exhibits are often quite exciting. There is a free Target Saturday Evening on the First Saturday of the month It is crowded but they do have music.

This museum is well worth the subway ride from Manhattan. This is the second largest museum in the City after the Met. It has a great collection. Beautiful building.

I have lived in Brooklyn most of my life and can honestly say that this event is way beyond any museum experience I have ever had, both there at the fabulous Brooklyn Museum, or anywhere.
It is not easy to describe but it is a free event with art, crafts, music, snacks and a marvelously diverse crowd of people. This is not a contemplative sort of museum event, neither is it snooty or in any way boring. It is Brooklyn at its finest, and in fact, is so good, I wonder how long it will last. Check out the promo and if it sounds remotely appealing to you, run, don't walk! Oh yeah and it is free, but there is wine and beer, and free snacks, available in the entrance area. And it is kid friendly too -- although the age span is the same as the average human life span. And I hear it is a great place for a first date too.
