“Clean, well designed park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

We saw this park as a prelude to Central Park to understand the design of Olmstad. It was kept pretty clean and had nice features.

“Lovely Park.”

A very enjoyable place to go to get away from the crowds and just take it slow! Really pleasant to walk around on a lovely sunny day.

“Where Else but Prospect Park?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

You can read a book on a sunny hillside under a tree by a pond filled with frogs, ducks, migrating birds of hundreds of varieties, take a walk deep into the woods, see at lease 5 waterfalls, play baseball, ride horses, go paddle boating, walk, bird watch, have a barbecue, never be disturbed, bicycle, take a nap, push a stroller, see raccoons, great blue herons, baby swans and mommy and daddy swans, take in the seasons, eat wild blackberries, never walk the same way twice, paint, write a book, oh, and they have special events. And I left out things so you can discover them for yourselves.

“Great Haven for a chance to Chill-out.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Designed by the same person who designed Central Park and it shows. A great rural haven in a city of constant movement and stress. Wide open fields, mature vegetation, lakes, wildlife all add to the enjoyment and winding paths to explore a new vista at each turn. A park clearly to be enjoyed and on my visit there were many doing so. Frisbee throwers, soccer teams, football enthusiasts, picnicking couples and families, cyclists enjoying the circular loop, exercisers of all ages, joggers, kite flyers, well you get the idea. I have a personal gripe however with the very loud boomboxes at the occasional party activities that we saw at the pergolas. To me it is a contradiction and an annoying intrusion into what is designed to be a relaxing and quiet place to get away from the noise and bustle. Otherwise great.
