“Very nice lodgings in Williamsburg, Brooklyn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

We were surprised at how few hotels there were in the northern part of Brooklyn, so we picked Le Jolie even though it was located along the expressway. We were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is relatively new and extremely clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are New York small, but adequate for two people; the bed was very comfy and the tv/audio were top-notch. A cold breakfast was served in the morning with healthy options and pastries that actually tasted bakery-made. The hotel is a short walk to the subway and to the interesting shopping and restaurants on Bedford Street. And that highway? The double-insulated windows were so effective that we heard almost nothing, less than ordinary street noise. We did have a problem getting our door to lock and reported that to management.

Room Tip: The west-facing rooms on upper floors should have a nice view of Manhattan. East view is the express...

This small hotel was very nice and an excellent value. The rooms were clean and well maintained. We had a room on the back of the hotel and it was quiet despite being right next to a major freeway. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast area was nice and in addition to the usual cereal, pastries and hard boiled eggs they had yogurt and fresh fruit. There was always someone there keeping things stocked and clean. The immediate area around the hotel to the southwest was not the best but if you go out the back you can go about three blocks and be in a nice area with good dining and interesting shops. You are just a few blocks from a subway station and a 15 minute walk from the river. I will definitely stay there the next time I go to Brooklyn.

A great little hotel in Williamsburg. Had stayed the night before at King & Grove for three times the price and was so glad to move to Le Jolie, where we stayed for three nights. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Even though the hotel is literally right next to the BQE, the sound proofing is pretty good. Complimentary breakfast is pretty good. Location is excellent - three blocks from the subway (one short stop into Manhattan) and very close to great dining. I will always stay here when going to NY from now on.

We booked two nights at the hotel the day before arrival. Ingrid, the night auditor explained the cancellation policy; 48 hours notice required. That is standard procedure for many good hotels. They are running a business. Well the unforeseen happened. Before midnight we had to cancel. I had no problem giving up a night deposit for the cancellation. The next morning, the General Manager, Mr Patel phoned me and offered to credit our deposit back to us. He explained that the hotel was busy and that they were able to sell the room. Needless to say, I was pleased. There was no need to do this on their part. I don't suggest the hotel can always do this for me or others in the future(especially if they are not selling all their rooms), but I do suggest that this act manifested integrity. If this is how they manage their business, I can't wait to take advantage of their hospitality on our next trip.

I just had my first stay at Hotel Le Jolie and I now know my go-to hotel if I'm visiting NYC. It's conveniently located in downtown Williamsburg so it's super accessible to public transit (which I took... an easy 3 blocks to the subway) and to top it off, they have free parking! Oh and did I mention the free breakfast, free wifi, and complementary bottles of water in your room's fridge? The hotel room itself was small but lovely. It was very clean and had up-to-date electronics (iPod dock, HD TV, even the hair dryer was nice!). The staff was courteous, helpful and friendly. I'll definitely be coming back!

Stayed here for a weekend, got a room overlooking BQE( this hotel is literally next to the expressway) not too loud all things considered, good sound insulation. However the rooms are tiny , if more than one person in your party watch out! Bathrooms are also tiny. Snarky hipster front desk person.

Room Tip: higher floors would be better, ask for rooms on the other side of BQE

After staying 4 nights in Soho, we treated ourselves to a little treat in Williamsburg and a treat it was. The reception staff are lovely, offering us detailed maps, giving directions and booking us a cab to the airport. The room was spotlessly clean with a nice powerful shower, big television and HUGE comfortable bed. The rooms aren't huge as other guests have noted but the quality is exactly right for the price that you pay.

The location obviously isn't ideal (underneath the Brooklyn/Queens expressway) but that's kind of part of the charm. The incessant skateboarders aren't too much of an issue either. I loved that the place was a 10 minute walk from all of the shops, restaurants and cafes and in particular near to the Brooklyn Star, an amazing little pub/bar with the best meatloaf sandwich I've ever tasted.

Stay in Hotel Le Jolie if you want a good value, comfortable and friendly stay.
