“Nice surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

Our son lives up the street and we were surprised to find a nice hotel in the neighborhood.
The area is quite up and coming, nice restaurants etc, depending on which way you walk :-)
The Hotel Jolie reminded us of Europe. It has small, well arranged rooms, nice bathroom and
adequate breakfast offerings. The pastries were quite good. We experienced little noise either from outside (5th floor) or from inside (the occasional door closing). The staff is friendly and available. We will definitely go back. A comment on the description of the area being "seedy". My pet peeve is so much trash on the streets. However,
amidst many old not so impressive buildings in Williamsburg, is some impressive new construction. Many very good restaurants celebrate their "quaint" digs in these old buildings; the insides being much more attractive than the outsides. We even spotted a movie star at a bar. Brooklyn is full of surprises!

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor and on the opposite side from the busy road.

Stayed here after a show at the Barclay's Center. The staff are very friendly and they keep the place in tip top shape. The location is pretty seedy and not very close to Barclay's actually. Parking is free but tight and limited. The walls are paper thin so lots of noise and we stayed on the first floor next to the ice machine which woke me up several times. Nice free breakfast with Starbucks coffee to boot.

Just completed another pleasant stay at Hotel Le Jolie, a very convenient hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. As always, we were greeted by a courteous, efficient and friendly staff. The check-in process was quick and a spotless room was ready. Everything was in working order and quite comfortable. No surprises, simply a well-equipped room and a nice breakfast in pleasant surroundings. You get all of this with complementary parking and an easy walk to the subway as well to the most interesting shops and eateries of gentrified Williamsburg. You will like it, nothing too fancy---just caring service and nice facilities at very fair prices.

Hotels in Manhattan are not cheap by comparison, so this is a slightly more economical 4 star alternative if you don't mind a few minutes on line L metro; also line G co-locates and a mini-cab taxi is $40 to JFK. Complimentary coffee and fruit teas / fruit is left out 24/7 and the self serve breakfast is quite adequate with crisp croisants, cereals, hard boiled eggs and juices. Great TV with so many channels and films if have time to work out how to access it all. The proximity of the interstate with its heavy traffic was bearable thanks to the secondary glazing. You get a bath here, not just a shower, but its a bit on the short side. Returning visitors will get a 10% discount code if they book direct. Reception staff very helpful with good maps and information.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

Our son has lived for the past 8 years within a 5 minute walk of this hotel. Although we usually camp out in his small apartment on an air mattress with his gigantic cat on our heads, we decided to splurge on a hotel during our recent visit over the Thanksgiving weekend. I only wish we had tried this option years ago!
We are familiar with this neighborhood and, while a bit gritty in appearance, we know it to be a safe and convenient location. If the hotel's lot is full, parking on the street is really not a problem. We booked a standard queen room and were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a king room on the 5th floor. The room was located on the rear (Withers Street side) of the building as I had requested during the booking process (directly on the hotel's website) and we had a gorgeous view of Manhattan.
The room was small but squeaky clean and well appointed. The bed and it's linens were good quality and made for comfortable sleeping. We are hearty New Englanders and sleep with the windows open. There was some noise from the nearby BQE, but it's sort of a steady whoosh and did not bother us. With the double windows closed the room seemed fairly
soundproof. The small bathroom was spotless with good water pressure. Towels were as clean and crisp as all else in the room.
Complimentary breakfast is offered in a pleasant area which was - as all else in this hotel - extremely clean and tidy. There were plenty of good quality, albeit simple, food choices that were continually refreshed by a pleasant and efficient attendant. Coffee was nice and strong and plentiful - everything fresh and appealingly arranged (these sorts of breakfast buffets are so often a bit grim....)
I was impressed with the general personality of the hotel staff. Everyone was constantly bustling about their business yet would take the time to smile and pleasantly greet guests they encountered. From the man carefully sweeping the parking area to the courteous and professional front desk staff, we felt that our patronage was appreciated in a rather refreshing way!
It took us a while to try this hotel, but we look forward to staying here from now on when we visit Williamsburg.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the Withers Street side of the building for better view and less street noise

Small hotel within easy walking distance to the hub of Williamsburg around Bedford Avenue. It is also very convenient to subway lines. Price is less than places I've stayed in Manhattan, plus there is plenty of free parking on the hotel site, along the street or in public lot across the street. Rooms are very small, but clean and comfortable. One side of the hotel is beside the Brooklyn-Queens expressway, so rooms on one side get more traffic noise. I stayed on the expressway side and had no issue sleeping - the double windows do a pretty good job of dampening sounds, but my home is in a somewhat noisy location so I may be more numb to traffic noise than many people. Ask for the other side if you are sensitive to noise. Also, avoid the ice machine (I always do so at every hotel). I plan to stay at this hotel next time I'm in NYC.
