This is a refuge created in a historical dairy. This is the favorite landmark of Fairbanks. (You'll notice the old dairy barn with the name on the roof.) There is an interpretive center housed in the old farmhouse and lots of wonderful trails, bridges, boardwalks in the back. (Guided tours and cool activities are happening throughout the year!!) People park in the parking lot right off College Road to eat their lunches, talk, and watch birds. There are spotting scopes for free use and in spring and fall you can watch our beloved sandhill the cranes, Canada geese and other waterfowl in these "Front Fields". In the fall there is a Crane Festival with a visiting speaker and a week of fun activities. Creamer's Field is just a wonderful local place.
