The last two times I went to Pikes (a year apart), the service has been poor. The first time, my nephew who was on his way to the airport, and I wanted to treat him to a nice dinner, was with me. We sat in the lower area (more of a view). There were about 4 other tables that had people seated. It took a little while to get water. Then after 10 minutes we still did not have a menu. I asked the water server if someone could help us. Another waiter came over (it was not his table) and he helped us as the waiter assigned to our table was serving a large group and had not bothered to check with our table. I sent a letter to management after this poor service, but did not get any response.
A year later a friend wanted to go to Pikes, again on the way to the airport. It took a little while for the hostess to seat us, and then my friend had to go to the hostess stand after about 10 minutes so we could get someone to serve us. The restaurant was not crowded..maybe 5 tables were full in the lower area. I could see other wait staff chatting with other customers, but it took our going to the hostess stand to get service. The hostess was apologetic about the wait.
