This hotel is located in a lovely spot that could have made a great base for exploring the town/area. However, our first impression was dashed as the hotel is quite worn and tired and it and our room was VERY dirty (there was visible dirt left standing in our bathtub and large deposits of hair were left on the floor, vanity top, and toilet - yeeech!). It was too late to do anything about our filthy room as we checked in late so we grumbled our misfortune, took it, and requested the Housekeeping Supervisor check our room the next day. The next evening when we return from a day of touring, our room was still filthy. I talked with the Housekeeping Supervisor and asked her to come and inspect our room again. She did check and agreed it was dirty; she stated that young people today are a problem as they just can't be expected to do good work?!? After this, our second complaint, the Supervisor cleaned our room herself with one of her employees. The room was OK after this third effort. The hallway carpets were stained and dirty and needed vacuuming (we didn't see anyone clean any common areas during the three days we were there). Walls are dirty and worn.
The property is quite large and it is a rather long walk from one end to the other. If your room is in the end of one of the wings you will walk A LOT as you must enter via the main doors (you can exit the building by your room but you cannot enter the building there). We couldn't understand why such a large hotel only had such a small business center located in such a poor area (two computers located on the lower floor behind the laundry - long walk from the front desk). My wife and I did not utilze any of the on-property dining options. The rooms are large.
