“Captivating exhibits”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013 via mobile

This was one of my favorite places on our trip. The exhibits were colorful, historical, very cultural and the videos were very interesting. The staff was also very helpful in showing us different ways to see the town of Fairbanks.

“Make it your first stop in Fairbanks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

You will get more from your Fairbanks visit by stopping here first. I had a better appreciation of the Alaskan history and natural wonders through this center. As a bonus, you walk away with tips and discounts to many establishments.

“A must when in Fairbanks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

Stop in here first as the center has much to offer. Staff are friendly, information about the area as well as the native cultures abounds. The exhibits both inside and on the grounds very interesting. The archway of antlers a must. Tons of resource materials for travelers. Nice short information film as well. Highly recommend the center.

“Full of information”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

We stopped here and felt rewarded. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Good exhibits about the area. Many brochures about Fairbanks and maps.
If you have free time they are good to help fill your time.

“Make this your first stop in Fairbanks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

This place is so much more than a typical visitor center. They've done a beautiful job describing Native Alaskan life and educating the visitor. In fact, while we were there, a class of junior-high (?) students was there with their teacher, using the facility's resources to answer questions on their handout sheets.

My favorite area was a cabin you walked into, which showed the Northern Lights in the sky through the window, and a dog musher sled and supplies in the snow "outside".

They also have a theater in which they show two different 20-minute movies.

The lobby area has all sorts of booklets, pamphlets, maps, and other material, as well as a couple of staffers who are very willing to answer questions. There is plenty of free parking, and the property abuts the Chena River walkway.
