“Worth a stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

This center is on Steese Highway about 10 minutes north of Fairbanks. Really interesting and worth a stop.

“kinda cool?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

you get to see the pipeline and learn some history and information on it. you also get to see some examples of the "pigs" used inside. it's free, easy to get to, and easy to leave!

“worth while and free”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Informative boards and a chance to see the wonderful engineering achievement up close. The skill and care taken in the 1970s constructing the Oil pipeline was of the highest order. Shame the flow of oil from Prudhoe Bay to Vaduz is now so small that the whole pipeline project may not be able to work for much longer as it explains they require a minimum quantity of oil to sustain the speed through the pipeline, without new areas being opened for drilling in Alaska.

“Up Close - pretty unique!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

This is a real up close area to see the actual pipeline, see some of the other mechanics of the pipe and learn about some of its history. A must see if in the area. Does not require a lot of time but well worth it.

“It isnt really a visitor center, just a viewpoint”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

The visitor center isnt really a visitor center, it was just a viewpoint where you can see the pipeline rise above from the buried ground. There is some information about the pipeline, which is very interesting. Nothing special about the pipeline in terms of view, except that it is such an engineering feat. Still worth seeing though.
