I had a wonderful weekend. The house is decorated a Victorian style. Andi was a gracious host and made me feel at home. She also has a lot of interesting friends around town. The breakfast's were "to die for".

Room Tip: The purple room is great.

Hi Mallen,
Thank you so much for your review! Love the pictures, particularly of Tom winning the battle single handed. :-) It was a great weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed having you all here. I hope you'll come back again for a visit.
Best,
Andi

Staying at the Schooler House was a great experience my me and my wife. We had recieved a gift certificate last Christmas and finally made good use of it over the Thanksgiving weekend. Booking the room was easy and Andi made us feel welcome and comfortable the entire weekend and opened her house and heart as if we were one of the family. We stayed in Willie's room and were amazed by the modern bathroom, the gas fireplace, and numerous other details that showed how much thought and hard work have been invested in restoring and maintaining this beautiful victorian home. The location is perfect in downtown historic Fredericksburg with an easy walk to almost anywhere you want to go and a short drive to everywhere else. The pace was very relaxed and you could get a real sense for the history of both Fredericksburg and this great country.

Room Tip: Willie's room is larger with a large modern bathroom and a great view of Caroline Street and Ris...

Andi is a wonderful host. She went above and beyond making our stay as pleasant as possible. She is very considerate and energetic and took care of us and the other couple as if we were all family.

The property is beautiful, both inside and out. We don't live far away but we are hoping to visit again in the spring to take advantage of the gorgeous backyard. It is also perfectly located on the outskirts of old town and guests are able to walk to downtown.

Our meal there was also amazing; it was one of the best I have had at any B&B. Andi's personality set the tone for the meal and we felt like we were a family sharing a nice Sunday brunch, which is a difficult feat for a host to accomplish but Andi did it well.

For the price, I would highly recommend staying here versus one of the hotels in the area. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in or around Fredericksburg or for anyone looking to escape the city for a night.

First of all, they solicit good reviews, a trick that all the top-rated bnbs do. Still, that only works if you actually have a nice play to stay... and they do.
The front room (there are only two rooms), where we stayed is terrific, with a nice little parlour of its own overlooking the street.

At first the price struck us as a bit high, and the vibe a tad severe... until we began chatting with the host over breakfast- she was very friendly and pleasant. Her breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip- delicious! But her biggest gift to us might have been her recommendation that we eat at Foode, a local restaurant, that blew us away.

So- recommended? Definitely. Overpriced? Not at all... great stop in Fredericksburg and we would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Take the front room.

Hello!
I think this is you, Karl. I want to thank you for your very original review - loved it! It was a pleasure having you and the family spend the night at The Schooler House! I've never seen such a verbal little girl at that age. Clearly, you both work with her. Stacy's website is gorgeous and I'm going to pass it along to my younger, hipper friends! I hope you'll stay with us again if you pass through again.
Best,
Andi

This is most definitely the best B & B I have ever stayed in. Myself and fellow guests had the fortune to be "stranded" at the Schooler House for an extra three days whilst Hurricane Sandy blew over. We could not have been in a more welcoming and comfortable place. Andi's attention to detail and to ensuring that her guests have the most comfortable and relaxing time is exemplary. Andi is a great cook and each breakfast time something different and delicious was put before us to tempt us. The Schooler House is right in the middle of the historic district and everywhere is walkable. Whilst each of the two bedrooms is an oasis in themselves, Andi's parlour and garden retreat mean you can relax at all times of the day. Don't even think of staying anywhere else in Fredericksburg!!!

Room Tip: Both rooms are spacious, jam packed full of interesting historical detail and artefacts and the beds...

Hi Rosie,
Thank you for the wonderful review!! I couldn't think of any better guests to spend the hurricane time. I know it was stressful not knowing when you would all return home, but you all were just wonderful and generous. Thank you for a wonderful experience. You came as a guest and left as a good friend!

My husband and I have stayed at the Schooler House B&B before, so when it came time to stay in downtown Fredericksburg, it was a no brainer! This place is wonderful! We had just come in from a long weekend and really needed a place just to rest. Andi, the innkeeper was able to take us earlier than the normal check in time and we were so thankful. We stayed in Willie's room, our favorite. Both of us had a chance to rest and recoup before we headed out to dinner that evening. It was just like coming home. We highly recommend a stay at this charming B&B!

We selected the Schooler House for our visit because of the fantastic reviews on trip advisor, and we were not disappointed. Andi is a wonderful host. Her recommendations on things to do and places to eat were very helpful. The breakfasts were outstanding, and the location is within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. We would definitely stay again.
