“A great stop on a long trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2010

This would be my top pick of a hotel for a break on our 18-hour trip between New England and Florida. It's right off the highway exit and convenient to gas stations and restaurants. The pool was open, relaxing, and conveniently located. The room was great, with a separate lounge area and bed room (with a TV in each!). The breakfast was by far one of the best hotel breakfasts ever, with hot, fresh food. I even suspected the biscuits were home-made. We stayed for around 100 dollars, which I though was an excellent value. I would definitely recommend this hotel over the other standard, off-the-highway chains.

This hotel is among many others on a big complex with loads of resaurants, offices etc. It has managed to make itself quite unique, the staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. The set up is unusual as the pool is in the lobby, next to the tables and chairs used at breakfast and overlooked by all the bedrooms. It sounds weird but it works, children were playing in the pool while their parents enjoyed a coffee and a book close by. The pool is closed by 9.30pm and opens again at about 8.30am. The room was good value, very spacious, with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. They have a mini shop at the front desk which sells an assortment of useful things from umbrellas to microwave meals!

Stayed here while visiting the Boy Scout Jamboree at nearby Fort A.P.Hill. While originally able to only reserve 3 nights, the staff was able to extend our stay to a full week when they received a cancellation as the hotel was completely booked.
The location was convenient to walking to several fast food restaurants, plus pizza, Mexican and Cracker Barrel. Even walked to the movie theater. Pretty much need a car to do any shopping, however, the hotel kept a small convenience store off the lobby for essentials.
We loved the full breakfast buffet which they prepared in a real kitchen and the dining area was in a lovely setting.
Pool was on the small side but very warm. Used the fitness center (2 treadmills, bicyle and weight apparatus) which was kept thankfully cool. Also able to print our travel directions home in the free business center.
Loved having the ability to shut the door between the bedroom and living area and appreciated the extra sink in the kitchenette.
Could have stayed even longer!

Was on a roadtrip and after grabbing some food in Fredericksburg, we decided to just check the hotels in the area. Since we were retiring a little early and could sleep in a little more than our other days, we decided to go with a nicer hotel for the night. I think we paid 89 for then night and it was great! Rooms were great, front desk staff was really friendly and helpful during checkin, and hotel was well kept. The breakfast in the morning was great, and more like a buffet at a restaurant than a hotel breakfast!

Spent 5 nights at the Wytestone with friends on a golfing trip. Suites were more than adequate, plenty of room. Easy access off the interstate with many restaurants to choose nearby as well as golf courses. Did not use pool, the hot breakfast every morning was a big plus.

We stay here when we're driving from the Carolina's back to NJ. WyteStone never disappoints. The pool was incredibly well heated and I almost didn't want to get out. You'll find the rooms well arranged and large- perfect for families who have been cooped up in a car all day to spead out a bit. We enjoyed the just baked cookies at check-in. There are several restaurants in the area, including a Cracker Barrel, if you just want to walk to dinner. There was a time when there were store outlets here too but the stores have changed to medical offices. We found the hotel staff very attentive. Breakfast is great - a well stocked buffet - which easily handled us as apparently a large bus tour had come thru earlier. A nice variety of food and all of it well stocked. I'd recommend this place to anyone. You'll even find the price is right!
