“More than I expected.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012 via mobile

Check in was a breeze. Hotel has a REALLY cool layout. Rooms are on interior corridors and all of them overlook the indoor pool and lounge area. For a group, that's a huge plus! Rooms were clean and fresh. Front desk phoned within 30 minutes of check in to ask if everything was satisfactory with our room. I have stayed in ALOT of hotels, much more expensive hotels, and this was a first! Expected pool noise in the room, however, their soundproofing is fabulous as I neither heard any noise from the pool area, nor your typical hallway noise of people coming and going... Breakfast was adequate and comparable to other hot breakfasts offered free at other hotels. No issues on check out. Overall a fantastic stay at a fantastic value.

After reading the other reviews on this hotel I was expecting a higher standard then received. The room was musty and needed a good cleaning. The pool was very small and loud. The price was high for what you got - I could have stayed at a much nicer hotel for the price I paid. A little updating of the rooms would go a long way. The breakfast was good!

We have stayed her twice. Great rate and a nice hotel with exceptional service. The manager was in the hotel checking with guests to see if all went well with the visit. You will be hard pressed to find a better value. Not downtown but still great.

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms are great for the pool but open into the lobby

My husband and I needed a weekend getaway and Fredericksburg seemed like the perfect destination for us. We had a very long drive and were quite tired by the time we arrived at the hotel, which was around 8:30pm. The hotel staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful. They let my husband and I know that if the kids in the pool were too loud, to please let them know and they would handle it for us. That said, you can hear everything that comes from the pool area in the front room of your suite. If you go to the back room, however, it is very quiet. Overall, the rooms are a huge size and a great value for the $$. You can tell they are in the middle of slowly remodeling. Some things have been updated and others not. The beds are a bit uncomfortable for our taste and the smoke detector hangs right over your head, so if you are a person who likes it perfectly dark, this place probably isn't for you.
Each morning you have a hot complimentary breakfast and by hotel standards, it is very good. We had selections of sausage, gravy, biscuits, french toast and eggs. They also had rolls, juice and hot coffee. The staff was very attentive once again, and engaged in conversation with the guests which was really nice. They treated all of the guests like they were part of the family.
My husband and I will definitely stay again in this hotel. Very good value and a great location which is close to many eateries within walking distance.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in a room that is not close to the pool. It is very noisy from inadequate sound protect...

Stopped at this hotel on our way back from Orlando - left Orlando at 4am and arrived at hotel at 5pm. Not a bad drive. This hotel is a gem - all of the rooms are very large and comfortable. Coffee was available all evening in the lobby as well as cookies. When we left the next morning at 4am there was coffee available and we were able to get "to go" breakfast bags that consisted of a bottle of water, fruit of our choice and a cereal bar - might not be the same as their breakfast buffet but much appreciated when you need to get an early start. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stayed here for just one night after purchasing a car nearby. The very friendly desk clerk accepted our discount coupon and gave us a choice of rooms. This was a Saturday night in late January. The open feel of the motel's interior is very appealing and inviting. Our king room was just huge with a sitting room, TV, microwave and small quiet fridge. The bedroom had another TV and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean with many towels and the shower offered different speeds from the shower head, even though ours wasn't working too well. Quality brand shampoos, etc..as well. The nearby interstate was not intrusive and the room was very quiet. The temperature is controlled by a thermostat. Nice!! The parking area appears safe and we had no issues during our stay. The nearby Mexican restaurant (El Charro) is walking distance and the food was excellent. We did a review for them as well. We wish all motels could be this fairly priced and comfortable during our travels. Highly recommend!!

Room Tip: Upper floor (5th) was very quiet.

My family and I stayed here for over six weeks as part of a job relocation. The staff and management are wonderful, they went out of their way to make us comfortable during the holidays, even putting a small Christmas tree in our room. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet is delicious! They have a Thursday light dinner for guests as well. My ten year old loved the hotel and especially the pool so much he didn't want to leave!
