“Disgusting!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2011

My husband booked this hotel online and the pictures made it looked alright. WRONG! The room had a horrid smell, everything was old and worn out. I would not let my kids have bare feet at anytime, afraid of what was on the rugs and made them sleep in the sleeping bags instead of on the sheets.

To top of this experience, I found a dead roach on the floor behind the toilet!! We got up and bolted as fast as we could in the morning. Wyndham Hotels should be embarrassed to be associated with this dump!

We are only staying here since we needed a room for a night that would allow dogs. This hotel is dirty, loud, and not worth even the cheap rate! Leaky toilet, filthy carpet, trashy loud guests... And sheets smeared with either feces or blood! Just all around nasty and unsafe.

The place is old, in need or repair and overall very dirty and worn. I requested a non-smoking room and the room reeked of smoke. We were very tired from our 10 hours on the road so we just thought...we will be here for only 8-9 hours or less. Everything in the room was old, worn and dirty. The shower curtain had a large bloom of black mold on the inside. The beds were like cement blocks. The pool was covered and the cover looked like it was used for target practice for beer cans and bottles. The playground was two swings over mud puddles. The TV picture was out of the 50's...full of snow and barely viewable. All we did was sleep and get out early the next morning. I think that is their niche. They charge a moderate price for the room and most of their guests are travelers who stay one night and leave. No incentive to improve the place. It is one of the cheapest places in the area... so just fill it up with tourists traveling north or south and who cares if they ever come back again. I guess it works because the place was full.

We were totally grossed out by the place but we were able to sleep for the night and hit the road early the next day. When your eyes are closed all rooms are the same...wish we could close our noses.

As was mentioned in other reviews there were some tough looking people hanging out at the hotel. Like an episode from America's Most Wanted. I can't imagine why Days Inn corporate would tolerate a facility this bad but I guess they do. As long as the place stays full I guess.

Bottom line. Sleep in your car. Sleep outside under a tree. Get arrested and sleep in jail. Anything is better than this dump.

Room Tip: You get what you pay for.

My husband booked two days at this hotel. One for us to stay in on our way to North Carolina and one night to stay on the way back . We were supposed to be staying April 4th and April 8th. For personal reasons we had to cancel the trip. We called Days Inn to cancel .. They couldn't even find the confirmation # that was given to us for that second night. What if we had showed up? The best is, my husband found on his credit card that they had charged us for the room for one of the night --a room we never used because we never set foot in the place! He called this morning to speak to the manager, concerned but very polite.. no apologies were issued to us--acted as if there were nothing wrong with what had transpired at all. They say we'll have it taken off our credidt card. One can only hope. Stay away from this place!!

We work for a large moving company and frequent this Day's Inn several times a year. We stopped on Saturday March 19th to stay one night and on this trip, after requesting a room close to the truck parking, we were placed on the opposite end of the complex. There were, next door, people who were renting rooms for longer periods and were outside drinking and being loud. The room we were given stunk of cigarettes and urine. We returned to the office to request a closer room and were told without a credit card, we could not get a better room!! We are on a budget with the company giving us a cash allowance for our road trips. since when does cash or credit card determine the type of room and where it is that a customer gets??? We will never patronize this Day's Inn again and will advise all we know to do the same!

We arrived at the Days Inn Fredrecksburg South to find the hotel inhabited by full time residents, who were hanging out in front of their rooms. There was a strong smell of marijuana, and a domestic dispute arupted right in front of us, while walking to our room. We entered the room to find that it had not been cleaned from the past guests it was absolutely filthy. For instance there was bread inside one of the drawers, roach powder lined the corners of the room. We checked the bed for signs of bedbugs to discover that there may have been there at one time. We immediately checked out and had our money refunded.

Stay here only if you are desperate. The room was filthy!!! You could see the outside from in. The rug was stained EVERYWHERE! The bathroom floor was disgusting. You could hear everything through the walls - which were stained. We had to leave our tv on all night to drown out the sounds. The halls had butts all over the floors. There was no bath mat. We understand you get what you pay for and we were not expecting amenities, but not the "slum conditions." The reason we picked this hotel was that it was close to the highway and we were traveling with our dog. I would have rather stayed in our car on the highway. Pay more to stay elsewhere.
