I did not stay at the Holiday Inn, but rather was there for a week long seminar. The conference room had a musty/moldy odor and several people, including myself, had allergic reactions (sneezing, headaches). The air vents in the ceiling had black stuff around them leading me to think there may be a mold/dust issue. People who were attending this seminar and staying at the hotel reported poor room quality, no wake up calls, and incorrect charges on their bills.
Also, money was stolen from one woman's tote bag. This was a teacher seminar, so although we do not make a lot of money in our profession I think we are an honest lot. Do not leave anything valuable where any staff has access. I know this is a general rule with anything of value, but one would expect that they could leave a tote bag in the room at lunch and not have it searched.
General courtesy is also a huge problem for this hotel. When I called for directions to their parking garage, the person I spoke with was brusque and did not seem to know the area very well. The cleaning staff vacuumed outside our room during our seminar which was distracting, despite the door being closed. The kitchen was adjacent to the room the seminar was held in and on the final day, 11 am seemed to be the arranged start time to move large objects around the kitchen for 2 hours. A complaint was made to the kitchen and then to management.
The nicest staff person I met was a parking attendant.
