“A great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

A tiny place with just a few tables that people wait for and pounce on as soon as they are vacated. Busy but so worth it. My husband and I opted for the roast beef 1000 special sandwich and homemade potato chips and we were not disappointed. The roast beef was rare - so hard to find in a sandwich with great cheddar, crispy shallots and 1000 island dressing on brioche roll - made fresh!!!!! The house made chips are paper thin, seasoned just right. Bus your own table but the staff at the counter is friendly and polite. The menu is fairly small and they use fresh locally sourced ingredients. Now we know why triple D was there!

“Great sandwich place!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

Saw this place on Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives. We were in the area so decided to try it for lunch: it was great! Beyond expectations! Little hole-in-wall just open for breakfast and lunch (8:30am-3:00pm, Mon-Sat). Owners a chefs who spun off from Americas Test Kitchen, and it shows. The Roast Beef 1000 sandwich I could live on the rest of my life and be happy: Thinly shaved roast beef with fried shallots, home-made thousand island dressing on a briosh bun! The house-made limeade: fantastic: just the right blend of sweet and sour. My wife had a special: broccoli rabe pannini. She kept talking about how great it was! Prices are downright cheap: $7-$9 for most sandwiches. No wonder it got Best sandwich shop for 2012 from Boston magazine. We're definitely going back!

“Some of the best sandwiches in Boston”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

Just an unbelievably great place - fantastically great sandwiches, homemade potato chips, awesome soups and other side dishes, and cheap to boot. Very VERY limited seating which is the only downside. Go on the weekend - there are some sandwiches they only serve on Saturday, and some on Sunday, and they're probably the best ones.
