“The Bagwan Serves Cold Food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012 via mobile

Step into Mint Tea (no relation to the Tea Party) and it is like stepping into a little bit of the Rajneeshpuram - mystical Tibetenesque decor with pictures of yogis on the wall and the smell of tofu... You get the idea. Languidly served by folks in nantural fiber-ware, our brunch was almost cold. The memosa was syrupy. But, don't be fooled by the dreadlocks! Wth the prices charged, these folks are out to compete with The Donald.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

Have been coming here for almost a year. Really love the atmosphere and the food - have had several problems with mix-ups and service and have finally gotten to where we won't be coming back. Very sad. One time in? Give it a try - it's a great place; just don't expect to be treated like a valued customer.

“Update: don't miss the weekend brunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

I wrote an earlier review of Mint Tea where I have frequently had lunch during the week, but I had never had an occasion to eat there on a weekend. Last Saturday, my cousin and her husband were visiting on a road trip from the Puget Sound area and arrived later than they had expected. The restaurant where we had planned to take them was closed after lunch until dinner, so we decided to go to Mint Tea which is open on Saturdays from 11 - 4 for their weekend brunch. WOW! They serve much of the usual menu but with the addition of many tasty brunch options. There were so many wonderful items from which to choose that we had a hard time making choices. In the end, my cousin opted for a wonderful vegetable hash with poached egg which she was still raving about this weekend when we talked on the phone. I had an scrumptious omlette with mushrooms and lamb sausage. Both husbands opted for the mezza plates, something that is always on the menu, but each came with special twists for the weekend. And we split desserts - baklava and a great raspberry cobbler. We were able to dine al fresco on the porch. One of the things I LOVE about Mint Tea is that it is busy but unhurried. Waitstaff is always attentive, but one never gets the impression that they are trying to push you out of there. So we lingered over our food and we able to catch up thoroughly with each other. All in all, a wonderful experience.

“Mint tea....and a whole lot more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

Who says America's Vancouver (the one across the Columbia River from Portland, OR) doesn't have any good bistros? Mint Tea, located in a lovely old house in the "uptown" area of Vancouver (just north of downtown), consistently offers fresh, original, and tasty food at a very reasonable price. The menu features many Mediterranean and Morrocan options and always several vegan/vegetarian choices as well as a wide variety of teas and coffees. Though there are always soups, sandwiches and quiche/ egg dishes, much else on menu varies from day to day depending on what is available on the fresh market. The chefs are very creative and inventive. Diners have several seating options in various small, intimate rooms and, weather permitting, an outdoor porch and patio area. There is also a small gift shop which features a fascinating array of unique items from around the world -- generally things you don't see everywhere else. All in all, a very relaxed and enjoyable dining (and sipping) experience.

“Always healthy, friendly, and peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2011

My husband and I have been visiting Mint Tea for the past year, but until our last visit had only eaten lunch here. This was our first dinner experience at Mint Tea, and it was very private, romantic, and enjoyable. The food was prepared beautifully (as always) and was only one aspect of the wonderful ambiance of the restaurant. The decorating is very inviting and laid back. The food is very well prepared and full of great energy. The gift shop portion of the restaurant is fun and varied.
Overall, Mint Tea provides high quality food and great service, as well as a relaxing, "homey" experience.
