Front ladies were friendly and the hotel is very neat. Homey atmosphere here. My wife loves their free breakfast. Free wireless Internet here too. Recommended.

My wife, daughter and I stay at RLSC at least 3 times per year over the past several years – even before it became a Red Lion Hotel. I am an IT Network Engineer and my wife is a Financial VP of a local banking institution based in Seattle. RLSC is our favorite Hotel in the Vancouver area.

The property is located with easy access to both I-5 and I-205. It is very clean, the staff is very courteous and readily willing to accommodate special needs, and the decor and amenities are well above average. It is a great value for the price. We usually get a king size bed with a hide-a-bed for about $85 to $100, depending on the season. We highly recommend this facility!

I traveled to Vancouver, WA to attend an education class. The hotel was located about 5 minutes from the venue. I was traveling alone for the first time, staying two nights. Upon checking in I asked about the safety of my car, since the hotel was located right on I-5, and was assured they have never had a problem. The next morning I attended my class, but came back briefly at lunch to make some calls. I did notice that my room had been cleaned by this time. I came back around 7:00 pm that evening, since traveling alone for some reason I decided to check the closet when I entered the room, only to find my hanging garment bag was missing. I called the front desk, they said they would chech with house keeping. At this time I called my husband to let him know what had happened. While I was waiting to hear from the front desk I notice that my carry on bag was missing from the bathroom, which contained everything I needed. The manager was called in from home to read the door key. I could tell the minute I opened my door to the manager that nothing would be done to help me. No one but myself and housekeeping had entered the room that day, since it was his best employee it had to be me that stole my own things.
Absolutely nothing was done for me, the manager was very arrogant. A call to corporate has not been returned either. Bottom line, how do you protect yourself from this happening? Is there any responsibility for the hotel to keep you safe during your stay? In all I have had to replace about $2,000 worth and attended class the following day in the same clothes. I would never recommend this chain.

I needed a decent hotel in the Vancouver, WA area for a couple of days on business travel. Based on reviews on this site and others, I decided to try out the Red Lion at Salmon Creek. I've never stayed at any other Red Lion properties, so I didn't have any preconceived expectations. I found this property to be quite appropriate and, overall, a very nice place to stay. The hotel is relatively new (probably only a few years old) and in better-than-average condition. The decor is based on an Arts and Crafts theme and, in my opinion, very pleasing. Even the rooms have theme-related furnishings. Front desk staff was very helpful (provided a local restaurant recommendation with a 10% discount) and always had a warm greeting whenever anyone passed through the lobby. The complementary breakfast buffet was basic (no hot entrees), but well done and more than adequate. The one minor complaint: the bed was softer than I like. Oh, by the way, I never did find "Salmon Creek"!
