“Great customer service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

I booked this hotel because it was very close to the start of the Savannah Half Marathon. My party and I could not have been happier. We arrived very early in the morning having driven through the night and we were able to check in right away and enjoy breakfast. The front desk staff was so nice and accommodating. Every employee we encountered went out of their way to say hello and ask if we needed anything. My expectations are high when I travel because I work in a hotel myself. The room was clean and updated. Breakfast was great and always stocked. The location was great and we walked everywhere. I love this hotel and will definitely be back! Thanks for a great stay :)

Wanted a hotel in/near the historic district at a reasonable rate. This was perfect. Located just on the edge of the historic district, it's easy to get to from the highway into the city. Easy walking distance throughout the district and to River Street. Outdoor pool is not much use in cool weather (heating it up would be nice). Ample breakfast included. Quick, efficient check-in and out and good service from the front desk staff. What really made this a great stay was the concierge (Juliet Bell). Her suggestions of what to do, where to go, what to see and where to eat were excellent. She really helped us get the most out of our time and $$. Definitely recommend this hotel to friends who are going to Savannah.

We went to Savannah, GA, for our 31st Wedding Anniversary celebration.(Halloween) Stayed 4 days, Absolutely wonderful !! We arrived too early for check in - but felt we could leave our bags& park the truck. At the front desk, Michelle greeted us with a warm, cheery smile. We explained our early arrival from Florida and Michelle said: "No problem......and with her big grin said: "we have your room ready" AND, since it is your Anniversary, we will give you an upgrade. Nice surprise. WIFI worked great, but charg'g $20.00 p/day for prkg was an"ouch" for 4 days. The warm, delicioius cookies @ 5 pm in the lobby was a nice touch. To our pleasure, our name was on the marquee announcing our 31st Anniversary. Great location for easy access to the River front & Garden Squares for walking. We'd stay again.... and again.

Room Tip: Let front desk know if you are celebrating something "special". They may or may not have...

Free breakfast, friendly, helpful staff, nice clean rooms and close to everything. Park the car and walk! Only downside was no bar in the lobby, but plenty of other watering holes and you can get poured a to-go drink everywhere!!!

Four family members from three states met at the Bay Street Hampton Inn for the Savannah Mini-Marathon. Attractive lobby with breakfast room, great service by valet, front desk, breakfast and housekeeping staffs. It was a perfect stay in a great location for River Street attractions and many of the popular restaurants and historic sites. I would highly recommend it but at least for this runner-filled weekend expect top-tier hotel rates. Savannah was an exciting, friendly and captivating city once again!

Stayed here for a few nights during a trip to Savannah. The hotel is situated close to the river and many restaurants and shops. You have to cross Bay St. and walk down stairs to get to River St, but less than a 5 minute walk. Also close to some shopping and nightlife. There are a lot of chain hotels on Bay St.
The staff was friendly. Everyone did say hello and the rooms were okay. There is a microwave and fridge in each room, which would have been nice if we used it, but didn't.
We ate at Ruth Chris down the street which was great.
We were there for the marathon which started on Bay St. The room rate was a little high for the accommodations, but I'm sure they raise the rates because they know the tourists don't have much choice but to pay if they want to stay downtown.

Thank you for choosing our hotel. We are happy to see that you enjoyed your experience in Savannah, although you felt your time in the hotel was okay, we aim to make every guest experience a great one. It appears you came during a special event weekend so the rate was higher than normal. Please feel free to visit us during a time when the rate is a little less expensive.

Not right on River Street but very close; you won't be able to walk there. The hotel was very clean and nice. Staff very professional. Would definitely stay here again. There is a charge for parking :( but most downtown hotels in Savannah do charge.
