“Great vacation/work trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi and other amenities. Courteous staff. Enjoyed the visit. There is a daily parking fee, but convenient to RIver Walk and worth it the expense. I was there for a 3-day meeting, but went early and enjoyed the walks and convenience to downtown and various squares. Lot of places within walking distance. Room cleaned daily. Temperature a little on the cold side, but easy to adjust in rooms.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the atrium can be a little noisy at night. Advise getting room with river view.

My wife and I spent three nights at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront Hotel and really enjoyed our visit. The staff was wonderful from the moment we got out of our car until the moment we left to return home. We were fortunate to get a riverfront room and the view as fantastic. Savannah is a fun city to visit as they have so much going on-shopping, great restaurants, historic tours, etc. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub also. I would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in Savannah, Georgia.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a river view and if possible a riverfront room. The riverfront rooms are the quiete...

This is a bulk standard Marriott and was good value for the price we paid. Whilst within walking distance of the centre it is a little way out and we were surprised the parking was so expensive for its location.
The free ferry service to the centre is worth using.

Stayed here for a conference and really enjoyed my stay. Even though I did not have a waterfront room I could still see the ships go by out my window. I can't say enough good things about the staff here, they were very friendly and helpful(kudos to the management). If you want to stay in a brand new hotel I suggest you go somewhere else but this hotel is clean and well kept. In room bathrooms are large and clean as well as public ones. I didn't eat at the restaurant so I don't how good it is. If the rest of this hotel is any indication, it will not disappoint.

Room Tip: No problems with room 845. It is a corner room with maids closet on one side so no room noise in tha...

Almost time to leave. I always stay at Marriott Hotels and have never been disappointed. Only disappointment this time was having a river front room and not the balcony I wanted. And only real complaint is I thought the coffee horrific. Never had bad coffee until this visit. They do charge for internet which I will never pay. Smart phones and iPads make it unnecessary. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The food was excellent. No complaints. Will stay here again when in Savannah.

Room Tip: Call for reservations if you want a balcony overlooking the river.

We always to try to stay at Marriott brand hotels, we like to know what to expect when on the road. This was our second visit, Yes, the interior is a bit dated, it has lovely waterfront views, the menu is limited, however the food is quite good.

Having a location with plenty of parking, we were surprised that even with self parking, there is a charge. Rooms are large, bright, and clean. The staff is very helpful in all aspects of making travel smoother, and advising on great local sites and restaurants.

We do not appreciate the "charm" of B&B's, usually old, awkward, and tough to maneuver privately. We found the same with some of the upscale trendy hotels on the historic waterfront. We enjoy our limited sleep time to be comfortable, quiet, and respectful of our travel investment. .

When this property is updated inside it will be amazing.

Room Tip: the corner king junior suite is really nice, and you can watch the barges on the river.

The website says the hotel was renovated in 2011....hmmmm.....got upgraded to a suite on the top floor because of my Elite status, but...the furniture may have been upgraded, but it was sure the same old (dirt) stained doors from 1992.... Possibly some of the same stains on the stucco paint in the bathroom. Bathtub fixtures not updated;however the counter had beed updated to granite. No towel racks anywhere in the suite. The bar area in the suite had a white utilitarian mini-fridge out int open with a black cord stuck in an outlet in the wall. Hotel seemed more like an outdated Courtyard, 3 stars at best. Generally clean, but definitely dated. Nice lobby area. Excellent patio along the river.
