I liked the Brice Hotel. Didn't love it. My room was spacious, clean. The TV was large and the bed was comfortable. Unusual these days, the lamps actually gave off light so it was no problem to read at night. The bathroom was tired, small and old. The bathtub, shower curtain and showerhead had given up trying some years ago. The amenities were on the skimpy side. I had to ask for a shower cap. There was coffee/tea available in the lobby each morning and somehow it came off as a bit on the stingy side since an upscale hotel might offer a few breakfast bakery tidbits. Wine was offered at 5pm and again, a cracker, some fruit, something with it would have been nice. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Kia was particularly courteous, printing out my boarding pass and having it delivered to my room. The valet staff practically cheered my arrivals and departures...really upbeat and friendly guys. Oh. If you're afraid of dogs or are turned off by large pooches sharing the patio with you, stay away. In my three days, I can recall seeing at least four big dogs. While they were all extremely well behaved...didn't bark, fight, lift a leg, I didn't sign up to board with them in a kennel.
Overall, The Brice was fine and I'd recommend it although I wouldn't return. It's one of those been there/done that experiences.
